Oh dear, have I got a reputation for this already!

What would be the advantage of using a PHE? I can't think of one off the top of my head apart from they can be changed to a smaller or larger one.

Your SatNav says 'Find Alternative' Do they find plumbing parts now as well as speed cameras

I worked briefly for a now defunct small windturbine manufacturer. They were looking at reducing the installed cost from £18,000 down to £12,000 for a 4 kWp turbine. It was pointed out that even of the actual generator and blades were free, they could still not do it for £12,000. Probably why they went bankrupt twice. Also worth remembering that that the maximum power of a turbine is generated at a fairly high windspeed. Try running at 12 m/s.

Yes, now is the time to flush it out and see what is happening. Well down here it would be as there is occasionally some sun today.

Small turbines have a very low efficiency, sometimes below 20%. It is the nature of turbines that power is proportional to the swept area and the cube of the windspeed. Even 5kW are not brilliant. There was a spreadsheet by Dr. Michael Hunt (I know) that showed all the efficiencies of most available turbines.

I am all confused now. Was just catching up and saw the comment about the boys in the shower, so when back a page to remind myself what they were up to and this is what I saw first. And I went to Public School in the 70s, so thought I had seen it all

Our old leader, David 'scared of UKIP' Cameron had a small turbine on his house. Was told to take it down. Think his was a Windsave, as sold by B&Q. There are so many reason why small turbines are pointless.

Possibly the best idea Iv ever had

Spent 4 hours in a Den Haag police station once. I was giving a statement after a very vicious and unprovoked attack. I begged them to call me as a witness to the court case, but the liberal bastards left the criminal off with a warning. All the best bars where in the red light area and had a nice Indonesian, take that whatever way you fancy. -

I have often wondered why roofs are not, shall we called it sheeted. Just seems to make sense to me. I am also surprised that it is not standard down here in the wind and wet.

"Practice on a shed or garage wall" says the man that has tried to plaster 3 times, only. And as for body dryers, I popped my nads in a Dyson Blade today, just for a laugh, now I have two acres to nurse

Fixing Solar Panels: is there a standard method?
SteamyTea replied to ToughButterCup's topic in Photovoltaics (PV)
Hooks that go under the tiles, unless slate, then it is threaded rods that go though the slate, or sometimes a thin plate that slides under the slate. https://www.cclcomponents.com/schletter-roof-hook-universal?gclid=EAIaIQobChMImp7ui8Oh2gIVTzobCh0JngvQEAYYASABEgKCPfD_BwE -
Most things in nature, and in mathematics look better on a natural log scale. No one knows why it is that way. I have planed the saplings in the local wood, so shall keep an eye on them over the next few years and see how they grow in their natural environment.

I think my Mother's was around a grand. Thinking back, the old one was damaged when they refurbished her kitchen. So not a fault as such, just bad fitting. She puts slat granules in it rather than tables, not that it should make any difference.

She has a softener made by Kinetico. It is the second softener she has had in 30+ years and I think this one is over 10 years old.

Do you understand the basics of thermal insulation and how the different metrics work? If not, I am sure one of use can knock up something to explain it pretty well. I am a bit busy with a show this week, but if you are not in a terrible hurry, I may be able to say something about it next week, as long as I am reminded.

That is for babies, try a Carolina Reaper raw, it makes you shake. I know, I ate one for a laugh.

So about 1170 kWh/(kWp.Year) That is quite high, but then you are only 1.5° North of me. Having 20, 175W modules seems odd now as 250W is about the minimum fitted. We got offered a container worth of them a few years back from a company that had miss ordered. They were a good price back in 2011 I seem to remember.

Shower(s) and hot water supply
SteamyTea replied to Pocster's topic in Bathrooms, Ensuites & Wetrooms
Or a large incoming hot water temperature gauge on each shower. I have always thought that a foot operated valve would be a good idea. Stand on it for water, step off to 'lather up'. Or just get male tenants, 10 year old boys never wash.
