  1. Not sure that is right. Supermarkets sell milk, they often buy it in cheaper than the direct manufacturing/processing cost of the producer.
  2. Are you claiming that Degree level education follows the normal market supply and demand curve?
  3. If you bridge over the ground stump/root combo with a bit of rebarred concrete, that would support most things. I think it is what they used to do to cap mineshafts down here. Now they put a metal cage over them. Then send the dogs down. https://www.cornwalllive.com/news/cornwall-news/dogs-rescued-after-falling-porkellis-8123356.amp
  4. Radon is a large atom, number 86, the outer electrons are not held very tight to the nucleus, and that is where the problem is, in part. Half of it will decay every 4 days. So best no chance of holes or splits in the barrier.
  5. Really https://www.gov.uk/contaminated-land
  6. I have a boat I can sell you, or to your builder.
  7. Have you copied my autocorrect? I never found glue sniffing much fun.
  8. I have diverticulitis, all I want is a smooth pipe.
  9. Not the best way to describe a temperature gradient. Think it took about an hour for my cylinder to 'settle down' after heating.
  10. Do you still have to improve the thermal performance of the whole property when you add an extension? I had a Grade 2 listed place in Weymouth 30 years ago. Never again, unless I get first prize in the Euro lottery. They seem to list any old common shit now.
  11. I am not sure we should be expecting kids to choose future employment at 13 years of age. At least in the public school system you have 3 choices. Family Business Forces Prison Not always in that order.
  12. Every place I have ever lived in that had plastered solid walls, all had cracks in them. Some had bulging plaster. So I would not think the long term airtightness is going to be brilliant. But no need to worry, people will quote the ACH figures from the testing date.
  13. When did that change? When I did my PGCE one needed a degree, though the Cert. Ed was still an option. The PGCE has now been renamed to Master I am told (level 5). Though I am a bit out of touch with the industry now.
  14. It has changed a lot since the 1950s. Almost as likely to get a squaddie teaching you now. University life is also not like it used to be. Most students have jobs as well.
  15. depends on how good the fitters are.
  16. You are so wrong there. Some of us worked in industry for 20 years after finishing an apprentice and then went into teaching. There are many reasons to end up teaching, 'never wanting to leave school' and 'long holidays' never got mentioned.
  17. Airtightness and continuity of insulation.
  18. Yes. I had Lego, and Meccano sets as a kid. There was never enough to make anything interesting. To make something required also buying the next kit up. I never understood why people don't build a stick build shed, them make TF modules in it. But then I am always amazed that people think spending 100 quid making a flat, 8 by 4 table is a waste of money and prefer to scrabble around in the mud, with a hand saw.
  19. A limited company has limited liability, not really a scam.
  20. Not sure education minister is in charge of apprenticeships. That should be Dept of Industry and commerce. As far as education minsters go, probably the first one. William Cowper-Temple
