Framing continues..

A bit slow to update the blog, been busy making frames up to the first floor, Caberdek laid to make it all a bit easier to work off, second hand Kwikstage up and 2 x 6m glulams for the ridge. Rafters and counter battens on top for the 35mm Isoroof. Membrane on top. The weather has been great until today. Some photos enclosed.

Wow good pics

Complicated frame guess you have good joiners on board

Well its just my Dad and myself. He draws  and measures, I cut and fix. Thanks for the compliment. No professionals on site yet.

Looks excellent, well done, we have also stick built on site and reckon we have saved £30k+ and means every timber position is well and truly etched in our minds...like it or not ?

Looks excellent buddy.

Can I ask why you have stick built and not had a frame made.

We have stick built primarily for cost saving, will share the actual cost later but hopefully £50K+ saving, fortunately have some time and energy though I do feel a bit bushed in a good way at 53 and the challenge and satisfaction from it all. Also having the support of my Dad, he's 74 has been invaluable and an opportunity to spend time together. Maybe that sounds a bit odd. I am still enjoying it.....

There's nothing like the immense satisfaction of quite literally building it yourself, well done, it's not the speedy option, (we cheated and got the roof trusses made) it takes time, but perfection does ?

When you get weathertight, I've a work-shed for you to practice your skills on. The joinery looks absolutely spot on.

74?!? Shake his hand for me will you. ??

Thanks Triple07 and Nickfromwales for your comments. I think Dad did A level woodwork back in the late 50's.
