ToughButterCup
What does it need to do? It needs to process a few hundred bits of Larch cladding, and I suppose I'll be throwing some oak at it too. And then it needs to be sold. Harsh I know, but that's life. Budget £1000 ish. Recommendations? (Don't tell @MrsRA but I suspect that I just may want to keep it though. I can at least try)
Construction Channel
what are the max dimensions you will need to process?
ToughButterCup
Hmmm. What I need and what I'll want when I have used one for a while.... Length: 2m + Width: 360mm Depth: 400 ish
Construction Channel
thats a biggen then have you got 3 phase? reducing the width to 300mm would open a lot more options, but if you want 360mm then we will start having to look at proper machines

PeterW
Second hand 3 phase Wadkin with a rotary inverter if you haven't got 3 phase at home. And don't try plugging it into an extension lead ...
jack
Larch has a high silica content and is apparently bloody hard on blades. Budget to buy a very good quality blade (or to replace cheap ones).

TerryE
Whatever you get, just make sure that you can get compatible blades, cos an eBay item will prob have well worn ones. You will also need a workshop vac system; my little 150mm one generates enough waste. God knows what a big jobbie will do!!
