Our village has had 16 new builds that have attracted CIL, at an average rate of around £20k per house. The Parish has been given £3.5k from CIL. Says it all, really. One site of 95 houses was supposed to provide, among other benefits, an open green space. They negotiated it down to a piece of land off the corner of the site to go towards a highways improvement. This will ensure that where a neighbourhood experiences a new development, it receives sufficient money to help it manage the resulting impacts on the locality.” Maybe a FOI request to ask what the meaningful proportion should be? 1% (a la @JSHarris‘ example) doesn’t sound very ‘meaningful’!
