Wagner Renewables or ask @Nickfromwales who he uses as it seems pretty reasonable what he gets.

Mind you the customer service at Wagner s fairly poor, contacted them last week and they said thed ring me back, still waiting!

Just a heads up - Mark from Wagner is currently working abroad.

Full disclosure - I've purchased a system, got an install date later this month so currently neutral towards them.

I just tried googling "Grid Trade Tariffs Available Through Solar Panel Funding" and it came back with 5 hits, all on foreign facebook pages, and when I followed the link, no sign of this advert.

Those were the "rent a roof" schemes where you leased your roof to a company who paid for the install and collected the FIT. All you got was the free electricity.

Wasn’t there some ‘scheme’ where you rent out your roof space? Assume that was when FiT was high ?

There are still similar schemes for ASHPs. They take the RHI, you get the heat pump to use.

I could live with that.

The problem with the "rent a roof" schemes was that they impacted negatively on property prices.  Buyers weren't keen to buy a house where they weren't able to change or remove the solar panels, as they remained the property of the "rent a roof" company.  IIRC, the penalty charges for having the panels removed were also pretty punitive.  Some of these installations date back to when the FIT scheme ran for 25 years, rather than the 20 years it runs for now (until it's closed to new applications next year).

Can be an issue when coming to sell.

Important questions to ask the panel company are

1. Does the lease conform to CML (Council of Mortgage Lenders) Handbook minimum requirements?

2. Does the lease contain a valid mortgagee break right which is exercisable on repossession?

https://www.cml.org.uk/lenders-handbook/englandandwales/question-list/2115/

3. Do you have a list of mortgage lenders who have accepted your leases in the past?
