I've  borrowed a Makita palm sander that takes 114x140mm sanding sheets. What's  the norm with these, buy individual sheets or get it on a roll and cut your own?

And if individual sheets where best to buy them?

Cheers

I just buy the rolls and then you can use it for hand or tool sanding. Cutting to size takes no time at all, so more cost effective IMHO.

The only advantage I've found with proper sander sheets is the pre punched holes for vacuum extraction - if you're using it.

My palm sander has a hole punch plate so I can punch my own in cut sheets.

You don't get one of those with a cheap sander!

Too late, but I always buy rolls, so you made the right decision.

Too late? Not at all, in my world I probably haven't started the job yet! xD

Actually it was for the tree house spiral stairs which are about 90% done.....the stairs that is, not the whole tree house!
