Onoff Posted 19 hours ago Posted 19 hours ago I'd cast in J bolts for that as a "holding down unit". Hooked round mesh going down into the concrete. Don't get me wrong I love chemical anchors.
Conor Posted 18 hours ago Posted 18 hours ago Your gate kit should have them included or at least the spec. Mine required 12mm SS rods cast into the concrete. Think they had to be 250mm long, 50mm proud, 200mm set in. A rather large sliding gate tho.
Andeh Posted 13 hours ago Posted 13 hours ago I also really like chemical anchors! 🥰 I'm almost disappointed I don't have more stuff to bolt down with it. It's a hard life post-build... When you run out of fun stuff to sink your teeth into... 1
Onoff Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago Again, J bolts hooked under reinforcing mesh or some similar design of holding down unit with plates and long studs. Windage against a gate and offset loads will just worry chemical anchors out over time. With something locked into the concrete you're trying to "worry" the whole, large concrete footing.
