chatGPT and the like for landscape inspiration

I was shown today how AI can generate ideas for lanscaping when given a photo as a base reference.  Question, has anyone done the same successfully from plans and elevation drawings.

I was pondering this very question this evening as I’m planning to get outside for a few days in light of the good forecast from tomorrow… have you given it a go? Any feedback?

Not yet but chat GPT says it can do this. It even claims it can prepare building control spec drawings.

I am also planning to spend sometime out in the sunshine today as well, staking out options for paths, drive  way etc. I need to try to stake out the relative heights. also need to accommodate the Wife's flower beds. I am not very imaginative in this regard which is why i wondered what AI can do.

Most AIs have a mix of good info and fantasy. The ratio varies by Agent and topic.  Treat them a bit like advice from a friendly neighbour who thinks he is an expert on everything.  The info might give you valuable insight, and options to explore, but it might also be total bollocks.  So treat any advice as untrustworthy. Always validate this against other AI agents and independent reputable sources otherwise you risk getting badly burnt.

I would not rely on any AI generated content. But i will view all designs and pictures it creates to see what i can take from it. If it sparks either my wifes or my imagination with any good ideas for layout then it will be worthwhile.

I asked AI and got rejected.

So try GQT, they usually have an answer, sometimes a humours one.

 

 

Many years ago I stumbled across Geoff Hamilton's gardens at Exton (I scrumped a ripe apple off his tree). Fantastic place for inspiration.

 

@Omnibuswoman just get a local pass for The Eden Project. It is always warm and dry there.

Im useless with all tech, but i tried to get it to do a design for an extension flat roof. it failed. Or i failed. Im not sure which.

 

Has anyone done this? Succesfully. If so, how?
