Alan Ambrose Posted Monday at 13:43 Posted Monday at 13:43 Hi, now I've found that the Rewatec ASP has been discontinued, I'm looking at the Diamond DMS 2 and the Bio-Pure 1. Like Mr Harris, I'm fairly sold on the idea of a conical tank. My skilled digger driver says he has found them a nightmare to install and we're on clay with a high-ish water table. He says it's hard excavating a conical (hopefully not comical) hole and then getting shingle / concrete down the sides to the base. So, has anyone any experience / tips on how to install these?
ProDave Posted Monday at 15:16 Posted Monday at 15:16 If you are on clay with a high water table you MUST concrete it in. Don't let anyone say pea shingle is adequate. I have heard most discussion this sat they prop it upright with temporary wood, and don't forget to fill it as you pour so it does not float out.
nod Posted Monday at 15:17 Posted Monday at 15:17 I’ve installed two Matrix on our last two builds and about to install another in the next two weeks under 3k and super easy to install

The local farmer dug out the hole and it wasn't difficult to make it smaller at the bottom than the top. We put a thick concrete slab in the bottom of the hole for it to stand on and it was easy to level it because it was conical.
Alan Ambrose Posted Monday at 19:40 Author Posted Monday at 19:40 Ah yeah, I was wondering whether an alternative method of holding it down would work. Maybe a concrete plug and wire rope or ground screws or something.
Nick Laslett Posted Monday at 20:31 Posted Monday at 20:31 (edited) We’ve got a high water table and the groundworkers abandoned the first attempt at the STP, when the hole collapsed. We are in a former gravel pit, so the soil is not robust. The second attempt was a very serious affair, with another 3 man crew joining the three guys already on site. The shuttering hire, and associated plant, was an insane cost. Photo from the morning of the install. I have a lot of photos of each step, happy to share, if helpful. Alan Ambrose Posted Wednesday at 20:19 Author Posted Wednesday at 20:19 (edited) @Nick Laslett Wow that is a high water table. What time of year was that? And you had it specially sheet piled? And your digger guy managed to excavate a smallish narrow vertical hole? How did he do that? So many questions? Edited Wednesday at 20:22 by Alan Ambrose
