BotusBuild Posted June 14 Posted June 14 We are hooked on having an LED illuminated mirror with Bluetooth speakers and a shaver socket all integrated. We've seen some online, but been burnt recently with other online purchases so being cautious. This is an example to give a better idea of what I'm talking about: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/375594805846?var=0&mkevt=1&mkcid=1&mkrid=710-53481-19255-0&campid=5338590836&toolid=10044&customid=c1e863e94d121245562a0ba4d15c8c04 Have you purchased the as described item, and would you recommend it? Please share a link. Thanks in advance
Spinny Posted June 14 Posted June 14 I agree they look nice and are de rigueur in Bathroom shops. Think you can also get ones with display screens in them. Never actually had one or used one so can't help. In stores I have often felt the led light surround didn't light up your face as brightly as wall lights above or to the side. (Possibly a blessing at my age). Can't comment on your ebay source.
Temp Posted June 14 Posted June 14 I made an LED edge lit mirror. Got a mirror made to my template then cut about 30mm off the template all around and later glued it to the back of the mirror. I found a thin transformer and remote control LED driver on Amazon that fitted in the thickness of the template and glued a waterproof LED strip around the outside edge of the template. The slight heat from the transformer keeps a small patch of the mirror steam free. The remote allows you to change the brightness and colour which is cool.
JohnMo Posted June 14 Posted June 14 I have a fancy back lit mirror. What a waste of money, apart from using once or twice the first week, don't think anyone has ever switched it on. Used as a mirror full stop. Music while an electric toothbrush brush is your gob or your in the shower, why?
Dreadnaught Posted June 15 Posted June 15 I plan to make my own. As @temp did, I have quotsd to have a mirror made to my size requirements. And with two frosted sections for LED linear profiles which I have built in to the wall. Those LED lights are wired back to the main light switch. I will also add de-mister pads. The result should be a thin mirror tight to the wall similar to the design you seek but without the bluetooth music.

Ours is connected to the same switch as the overhead light. The controller remembers settings when power is removed so this works well.

BotusBuild Posted June 15 Author Posted June 15 Definitely not wanting a back-lit mirror. I finally want a mirror that illuminates the face properly when shaving, or putting on the Saturday night makeup 😁

Temp Posted June 15 Posted June 15 I used these... 24V power supply.. https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B0BMWT3DSR?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_title Wireless controller... https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B09TKJSQLR?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_title The RGB+WW "waterproof" version of this led strip (not available at the moment). The controller supports several types.. https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B0BM5TR9SN?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_title The type of strip determines if its just white/dimmable or colour changing. 1

They showed up all sorts of things. For years, I wondered where the blackness in Guinness went. Then, one morning, I looked at my girlfriend, and realised that it went under the eyes. Mirrors are dishonest bastards, and they don't even reverse an image properly. 1 1
