Found something !

This gap - between the white render board and the stone .

Pissed the hose over this gap and …. It leaked !

Not sure if there’s an issue at the base but certainly on this gap .

Fill with what though ? Expanding foam ????

expanding foam tape ?

Too wide and deep for ct1 / silicone sealant I think .

If the gap is deep, push in some foam backer rod so it is set back about 10mm, then use a joint sealant like Sikaflex EBT+ from a mastic gun.  You will need to mask the stonework.  It isn't the easiest to finish but does a good job and stays flexible.

How do I mask the stone ? What tape sticks to it ???

Anything that sticks will do.  Masking tape, gaffa tape. Just to stop getting mastic on the stone as it is difficult to clean off.

I always have difficulty sticking to stone .

I’ll get ebt + clear so less visual mess 👍

You can use grey foam pipe insulation slit lengthways if you don't have any foam backer rod.

No Nonsense silicone remover works well if you do get any on the bricks.

You could...underfill the gap with Illbrück FM330 then silicone over.

I could have dropped off that used blue rubber on my way back. You could have fingered some Lumberjack's favourite PU to your hearts content.

That will fill the slot and never come off again.

Loads of rain last night .

Leaks doing good today .

That corner area looks bone dry though ….

Can see how wet the rest of the wall is .

Could have dried out in the night of course in that corner …

Water can be so cunning !

High water alarm going off on saniflo now …. Wonderful !

Yeah . Washer was on - we have guests here . As I walked past the saniflo I heard the pump repeating many times ( sounded unusual ) . Then the audible noise of the high water alarm on the unit . No one else took any bloody notice !

Quickly turned the washer off . Pump ‘calmed down’ then emptied as normal .

Turned washer back on - let it finish and drain - no issues with pump .

Since then filled up the sink and let a load of cold water down to the saniflo , all fine .

But ! As usual - one day it will die on me .

Anyone with a saniflo please buy the high water alarm !!

It is starting to sound like an Ugandan Hotel.

I swear water has intelligence.

It’s found new paths so it can find nice virgin parts of the kitchen ceiling to spoil .

Everything has now arrived to attempt that corner fix outside - just need a dry day .

Basements really can be a huge challenge.  The more underground, the more problematic.

Couldn’t agree more !

I’m relatively confident that corner is the source of all my woes . Weather tomorrow looks ok - so might attempt the fix then

Gave up with the gap filler strip - no way it will stay in . So will foam then gouge it back once cured ready to fill properly tomorrow

Well @Mr Punter you were right ; it won’t exactly form a neat job ! . But if it stops the leak cosmetics can be applied later I.e some trim over it .

I’ll leave it until Sunday then will hose the hell out of that corner

 ?

lol . That trunking is just the pv cable running down that side . Going a long the roof ( doesn’t penetrate it ) under the decking to the otherside of the build .

But appreciate it looks like a potentially water filled pipe or something

Found this old photo .

Hard to tell zoomed in what’s going on - no idea if I left it like this or finished it somehow .

Looks interesting at the bottom , can see plastic membrane and a hole ( ??? )
