Alan Ambrose Posted January 6 Posted January 6 @Jeremyw @G and J @olley @LSB @zzPaulzz @DIYHacker @GaryChaplin @Nick Laslett @JohnnyB @marshian @FuerteStu Anyone interested in a Suffolk meet-up? I'm thinking maybe 1st Thursday of the month at a pub somewhere in the 'centre'. If you are, let me know your post code prefix so I can figure where the 'middle' is? We're living in IP6 and our plot is in IP17.
marshian Posted January 6 Posted January 6 I have a monthly club meet 2nd Wednesday of every month so I think most months I would be OK and not have two meetings in same week IP24 so Breckland Area (ie I'm Suffolk/Norfolk boundary)
G and J Posted January 6 Posted January 6 Good idea. We live in IP6 but our plot is the wrong side of the tracks in IP12. :-0
Alan Ambrose Posted January 7 Author Posted January 7 OK by great algorithmic genius (hmmm) ... using 1 star for 'living in', 1 for 'building in', 2 if you've only specified one place, I have this at present. So, anyone suggest a good pub in, say, IP14? Kings Arms in Haughley? The Bull in Bacton?
marshian Posted January 7 Posted January 7 Suggestion "Crown" at Stowupland (Just outside Stowmarket) Close to A14 been a while since I've been there but it still seems to get good reviews (Dog Friendly too)
FuerteStu Posted January 7 Posted January 7 NR34 for me.. But I have 3 kids and still have rooms to complete. Be a while before I could even think about a social life 😂😂

marshian Posted January 7 Posted January 7 I meet with a group of "Car Guys" under the umbrella of Norfolk Mountain Rescue Club I think that sometimes people think we actually do mountain rescues - I have to explain that Norfolk is well flat (unless you are on a push bike) It's just an opportunity to share tools, knowledge and occasionally we have been known to hold a spanner party 2

Alan Ambrose Posted January 10 Author Posted January 10 OK updated map with LSB, so somewhere close to the stars in IP14? @Nick Laslett - since you know those 3 pubs , which one would you choose? Feb Thurs 6th, 7pm-ish?

I don’t have a strong opinion, happy with all of them, but for the sake of making a decision, I would say The Crown in Stowupland, mainly because I haven’t been there the most recently, so will make a change.
G and J Posted January 10 Posted January 10 The Crown at Stowupland, 19:00, 6/2/25 is in my diary. You’ll recognise me by the worried look underneath my shiny, bald head. Or perhaps we should all wear hi vis lol
