Tom
Our plumber has just about finished now, and was today making the final connections to taps, sink etc. I've just been round to have a look and am disappointed to see he's used flexible connectors for the wastes in the en suite and bathroom. Am I right to think this is a bodge?
ProDave
It would not be my choice, neither would those plastic pipe fittings be. What did you agree with him before hand?
Mike
It's not how I'd do it, but based on my previously mentioned hotel experience, there were plenty of problems with flexible tap connectors, but none with flexible wastes, so I'd not be too concerned. Sometimes with refurbs you need to use these, but I would want to support it, in this situation.

Expand Certainly didn't agree that he wouldn't use flexi pipes, but then again you'd assume that any decent plumber would use materials suitable to the job. Access is a bit tight but with a bit of time and effort I'm sure he could fit a proper waste. Agree re the push-fit elbows too. FFS, as ever two steps forwards, one step back. Russell griffiths
Is that a drop on sink in that he can’t get behind there when the sink is in position, if that’s the case he’s going to struggle to get in there, isn’t he.
Tom
Yep. They're semi-recessed. There are access panels though (photo above taken through one of them). Just spoken to him and he says access is just too tight - but concedes could be done if given enough time, but doesn't sound like he's willing to change them. Russell griffiths
I agree it’s a bit of a bodge but it’s because it’s been poorly planned. The waste coming up should have been closer to the access panel end so he could reach in and make the connection.
