I think IceVerge covers this in the video, with the main points being you can use standard gypsum plasterboard but don't use latex based paints that will seal it all up.

 

On the point of only insulating 1st and 2nd floor, it would probably make sense to try and remove and refit the coving if you can.

Not if (as I usually do) I'm using rigid (140-180kg/m3) WF. If I were using flexi WF (c50kg/m3) I would (and indeed did) use Intello.

 

Can i ask what the logic is that drives that decision?

Moisture-buffering due to the density.
