Bramco
Hi, We're putting some panels in the garden and came across the expanding foam post fixing stuff. Obviously a lot lighter for karting around and maybe makes the posts less prone to rot? But I read some reviews saying that the foam shrank back from the posts making them loose which obviously wouldn't happen with postcrete. Anyone used the foam? Would you recommend it? Mr Punter
Concrete is best, semi dry mix rammed and haunched up round the post. Postcrete is OK if you, like me, can't be bothered to mix concrete. Never heard of using foam.

Bramco
Thanks for the replies guys. Anyone tried the foam? Simon
Mike
I used the Postsaver wrap on my last fence, but only 5 years back so much too soon to know how well it performs.
JohnMo
Postcrete for me, it works, it's easy to use, not that expensive, easy to get hold of. Not sure I would trust foam when we get hit with 60 to 70 mph winds.
Iceverge
What's wrong with just back filling with soil and compacting it in? Otherwise maybe a "rice Krispie" concrete mix so that water isn't trapped by the post rotting it away.
Temp
I'm sure Ive seen youtube reviews on different systems. Avoid strimming grass near fence posts. It can damage the thin pressure treated layer and cause rot at ground level.
