SteamyTea Posted October 7, 2017 Posted October 7, 2017 Got a square in it as well hasn't it. So 6 + 5 + 4 = 15 Total when they are added together is 81
Tennentslager Posted October 7, 2017 Author Posted October 7, 2017 The final shspe is a pentagon inside a hexagon, so 11 sides In the other lines it has a hexagon, a pentagon and a square so = 15
SteamyTea Posted October 7, 2017 Posted October 7, 2017 Sneaky f**ker Reminds me of those SMP maths books in the 70's. They ruined arithmetic for everyone. 1

SteamyTea Posted October 8, 2017 Posted October 8, 2017 I still wonder what Nick Johnson who taught maths at my first college in Bournemouth is doing. He was one of the better lecturers.
Tennentslager Posted November 4, 2017 Author Posted November 4, 2017 Saturday morning nonsense now... No 50 digit answers please, I'd like size of a whale, size of Wales, size of the moon or similar.
Tennentslager Posted November 4, 2017 Author Posted November 4, 2017 Please don't think I make these up, I'm not nearly clever enough, just borrow from various sites across the net. This one from Twitter feed of @wingsoverscotland
SteamyTea Posted November 4, 2017 Posted November 4, 2017 53! = 4.2748869 Cube root of that is 1.6229623 has Sugar cube is 0.01m long, so cube has sides of 1.6229621m or 1.6229618km .
Tennentslager Posted November 4, 2017 Author Posted November 4, 2017 That's too many km for my head, can you not simplify to light years???

Tennentslager Posted November 4, 2017 Author Posted November 4, 2017 Been trying to work out a comparative explanation using everyday objects. The sugar cubes would be about half the size of the Milky Way which is about 100,000 light years in diameter So, if the Milky Way is a Basketball and the sun is a tiny tiny grain of dust...the earth would be the size of a microbes bollocks...then Then answer is a football! Easy???

Construction Channel Posted November 5, 2017 Posted November 5, 2017 im lost, 49k ly is nowhere near 74 Mpc. I wouldnt normally be bothered but i have made the special effort to learn what a pc is for this one so could you please be clearer with your explanation
Tennentslager Posted November 5, 2017 Author Posted November 5, 2017 Ed, I'm not sure I can explain anything much other than factorial equation to arrive at number of cm. That's a big big number do has been simplified along the way including converted from metric to imperial the from miles to light years...it didn't go as far as parsecs. #steamytea included jokers do started with 54 cards in the deck...so his calculations arrive at a much bigger number. My answer is of course a football??
jack Posted November 5, 2017 Posted November 5, 2017 I recall reading that every time you give a fresh deck of cards a good shuffle, you very likely arrive at a combination that has never existed in history. The number of possible permutations is 51!, or: 80,658,175,170,943,878,571,660,636,856,403,766,975,289,505,440,883,277,824,000,000,000,000
Tennentslager Posted December 4, 2017 Author Posted December 4, 2017 New one...now be honest and post your first answer you lot.
Construction Channel Posted December 4, 2017 Posted December 4, 2017 5 and I thought this was reserved for Saturdays?
