Monty Posted December 17, 2023 Posted December 17, 2023 Looking in to getting German (or other?) appliances and wondering if anyone knows of any websites to source wholesale direct from Germany for main appliances to hopefully get a bit cheaper than the UK vendors. Does anyone have any recommendations for sourcing and getting delivered from Europe? Thanks.
SteamyTea Posted December 17, 2023 Posted December 17, 2023 I bought my Bosch washing machine though Argo. A 'foot' was missing, got £145 off. Hard to get that sort of discount/saving.
oliwoodings Posted December 17, 2023 Posted December 17, 2023 Got all my AEG gear through https://www.appliancesuperstore.co.uk/, they were able to order things directly that weren't even in stock on AEG website itself. Very good service.
nod Posted December 17, 2023 Posted December 17, 2023 I’ve bought five Geberit frames direct from the manufacturer with a good saving Vat was charged at there end I think it’s unlikely I can claim this back So factor that in

In German, VAT is MWSt and probably 19% 1

I've presumed any UK vendor will add a markup, so hoping there might be some cost saves out there going direct to retailers (or even direct to manufacturers) for the big brands. Perhaps any saving may be lost in shipping but thought it might be worth checking. Anecdotally I've heard some good deals may be possible but not managed to pin down any specifics!

Temp Posted December 18, 2023 Posted December 18, 2023 AO were cheapest for appliances last time I looked. Great delivery as well.

Nick Laslett Posted December 19, 2023 Posted December 19, 2023 I’m actually trying to import a Berbel Cooker Hood from Germany. At some point after 2021, Berbel stopped supplying to the UK. Probably not enough sales, rather than any other reason. These are expensive cooker hoods. I have had two different couriers pick up the item from the German kitchen shop, hold it for 5 days, then return it to the shop. My freight forwarding specialist is trying to find out what mysterious piece of paperwork we need from the German seller to get this to work. Something about goods with a value of more than €1000. All the usual paperwork was in place both times.
HerbJ Posted December 19, 2023 Posted December 19, 2023 Have you tried https://www.vieffetrade.eu/ ? They are Italian suppliers, offering a wide range of electrical goods, furniture etc, and they do deliver to UK.
