CalvinHobbes Posted February 12, 2023 Posted February 12, 2023 Rather pleased with this. I just put a cheap sky sim in (£2) and its great. I had to recharge during the very cold but now its running great.
ProDave Posted February 12, 2023 Posted February 12, 2023 I am more interested in what meaningful data you can get out of a £2 SIM, I assume £2 per month?
CalvinHobbes Posted February 14, 2023 Author Posted February 14, 2023 (edited) Yes £2 a month it gives me 3gb which seems to be enough but I have 100 extra gb on the my sky app so I can put more in if needed. The busier the site the more data presumably will use and its only passing cars for the next 3 weeks. Edited February 14, 2023 by CalvinHobbes
Conor Posted February 15, 2023 Posted February 15, 2023 I've two of the WiFi models. Be very wary of the connections on the solar panel and the usb in to the camera, I destroyed one because the rubber grommet wasn't tight around the usb port and water got in and corroded the usb port and board. I also had the bracket on the solar panel snap off in a storm. 1
CalvinHobbes Posted February 15, 2023 Author Posted February 15, 2023 Yikes, thanks for the heads up.

PeterW Posted February 15, 2023 Posted February 15, 2023 I’ve found the Reolink ones better than the Hikvision ones and are 50% of the price
j_s Posted February 15, 2023 Posted February 15, 2023 Was looking at reolink poe cameras for my place as now have a cat 5 feed to garage and a separate one on front fence.
CalvinHobbes Posted February 20, 2023 Author Posted February 20, 2023 If you had someone in the US I would be tempted to get them to post on some of these... https://www.wyze.com/
