eandg
We have a temporary meter with sockets outside. Kit just being erected. Current plan is to do some internal insulation prior to running first fix and siting consumer unit. What's the best way of providing artificial lighting inside in the meantime - rechargable lamps/rigging up some standing lamps to extension cable/quickly bringing meter in and running some cabling for temporary lights/other? Cheers. Edited October 29, 2022 by eandg

Roundtuit
I got some led flood lights from screwfix on offer, twin lights on a tripod. Can't recall the price, but I thought they were really good.

Thorfun
I bought these for our basement. https://www.mad4tools.com/defender-22m-led-fully-enclosed-festoon-lighting-kit-110v-or-240v?utm_source=google_shopping?gclid=Cj0KCQjwnvOaBhDTARIsAJf8eVOhbSluYCTlFdjjIMnGf9-RCw1YLHm0Yv2h08-NFgu9sDS_koMsbnIaAiKeEALw_wcB but also got these for moving around the house depending on where we’re working. https://www.screwfix.com/p/lap-led-mains-portable-work-light-with-tripod-2-x-20w-2-x-2000lm-220-240v/247kf run off extension leads.

PeterW
LED panel lights just wired onto standard flex and plug. Lean them against a wall or against each other if you get a couple. Can be repurposed for the garage when you’re done.
nod
Festoon LED lights give a better light for working Draped around ceilings and walls They don’t leave you dazzled like some of the floodlights

Also you don’t have to keep moving lights room to room with festoon. I just provide those for my clients for each new build as it’s much easier to have the whole place lit up. Just remember to NOT go through the frame / structure, instead just go through thoroughfares and through doorways so you don’t have to keep pulling them out and retreading them. Or lend them to cocks who return them cut into short sections who did the above and realised it was then too late to get them out without cutting ( destroying ) them 😐. What makes life bucketloads easier, is to fit 110v trailing sockets on the end of each string, so you can daisy-chain one to the next and so on. Because they’re LED’s there is little to no problem with voltage drop, just limit it to 3 strings per run. I can even plug in a power tool at the end of the 3rd string for a quick source of 1110v power for sporadic use.
