Pocster Posted January 10, 2022 Posted January 10, 2022 I'm going to have a suspended ceiling below these 2 steels. So somehow I need to fix plasterboard ( or something ) to them . How should I fix to the steel though?. I assume a timber batton is what I need. But I can't see drilling the steel to be fun ( also can only bolt from one side not the other ). Presumably there's a standard method to do this????

Advice is to pre drill with a 3 or 4 mm bit as it helps these go in really easy 1

End is painted black so goto be good! Pre drill makes em perfic. I bought a big multi pack of cheap drill bits from screwfix or toolstation, all different sizes don't last that long but dead cheap and went through steel a fair few times before going blunt. Something like a pack of 100 for not much.

If I buy the cheaper option and struggle everyone will say it’s my fault for buying cheap crap . If I buy the expensive option and I struggle then it’s just me being crap .

A smear on hacksaw & bandsaw blades helps there too.
