Best fixing

Hi. What is the best way to fix a 8inch square timber to a block wall. I need something that will go through the timber squeezing it to the wall.

my gate is hanging on the timber but the timber is now a bit rotten at the base .. thinking I could bolt it to the wall..??!

Concrete blocks? Galvanised bolts if you can get the length required.

If you don't go for resin then use resin instead...

Anchor bolts like spitz , mega stuff . I’m too scared of resin ; you know ; sticky stuff on your hands and all that .

I know . I’ll build an underground mega structure but fear gluey bolts .
