Ziggya
Hi guys. I’ve recently acquired a 2 bedroom 1920s detached bungalow sitting on acre of land. I’m thinking of extending the current bungalow and adding a second storey onto it with the addition of a loft conversion. I’m not sure how much it’s going to cost or if it’s worth doing. I’ve attached a few images of what I want the bungalow to look like & the current state of the bungalow at the moment. The current floor space is 1500 square feet and with the extension and the addition of the second storey it will be around 2500 square feet. Anyone have any rough pricing ideas? By the way I’m brand new to this so apologies in advance if I sound stupid. Thanks Edited October 19, 2021 by Ziggya
nod
Around £1500-2000 m2 depending on where you are
Russell griffiths
If you want the second pic then you knock the first pic down. there is no loft conversion that is going to turn pic one into pic 2. Remember, you can roll a turd in glitter, but it’s still a turd.

Mr Punter
I very much doubt the bungalow has an internal floor area of 1500 square feet. 800 would be more typical as it is 2 bedrooms. I guess the house you have shown would be around £750,000 to have built. @Russell griffiths says it like it is.

Russell griffiths
I thought this was a wind up so treated it accordingly.

nod
It’s based on a basic loft conversation By a building contractor Area sensitive Ie not London or city centre
Makeitstop
Fair enough. Not quite the same pain as doing it ground up obviously.
Andehh
Knock down & rebuild will probably be cheaper! £2k psqm (+VAT) for a refurb seems punchy in current market! I'd also suggest £2.5k+. Edited November 26, 2021 by Andehh
