Builder's plumber subbie said to be a heating engineer too. Price from builder (main contractor) excluded UFH design.

Options for design

1. Builder's plumber

2. Some renowned supplier

Which is likely to be more cost-effective?
(Not wishing to be penny wise pound foolish nor to over-spend)

PS I have also started playing with LoopCAD to try and understand a little about this. Not yet worked up the courage to have a go at the detailed design

Considering known names
Wunda
NuHeat

or

the bigger retailers who also offer a design service

Hi @WWilts currently going through the process of obtaining quotes of this part of our build , based on what i have been quoted, the local firms are way more competitive  price wise than the national firms

Do you mean for supply and fit or only supply …? I guess you’re talking the big names such as Nu-Heat etc who are usually 3-4 times price of the suppliers such as Wunda. I think they charge £50 like most for a loop cad plan but they are pretty good.

Had a go with LoopCAD.

Probably some obvious rookie errors there, grateful for advice.

If I can get the right end of the stick, then can discuss things intelligently with the professionals.

Nu-Heat = ?
Go with Wunda.

Got to agree with this

Nu-heat £6980

Wunda £2200 - £2900 (red to green spec) .

Plus, when you’ve paid your money, the Wunda system will actually work. Advantageous in ones pursuit of warmth ?
