Triassic
Ive just installed my new water main and fitted a new stop tap. Do I need to fit anything else? None Return Valve, drain valve, pressure regulator?
PeterW
Depends what your water provided requires. I always put a drain valve and a full bore lever valve past the stop valve as I don’t trust gate valves. NRVs can be restrictive - if you’re up past 7 or 8 bar then a PRedV is a reasonably good idea before you get to the control set for the UVC
Pocster
I put a lever valve - much easier to turn . Outside I also have a non return valve as water company insisted on one as we were going to have rainwater harvesting. That plan was binned though as ROI was around a billion years

But cost of a proper system and pump; savings were minimal was the real issue.
ProDave
Double check valve required in Scotland by Scottish water, which must be an admission the single check valve incorporated into the boundary box that they supply does not work
