Moonshine Posted March 17, 2021 Posted March 17, 2021 I have had a quote for connection to the sewer in front of my plot. The sewer is in the road about 3.5m from my boundary, and has an invert of 1.5m below the road level. There will need to be a lane closure and 2 way traffic lights. The company have quoted £8k for the connection and drainage to my boundary. How does that sound?
Russell griffiths Posted March 17, 2021 Posted March 17, 2021 Start breaking it down in your head, we used to pay £600 a day for traffic management for lights and signage for a single lane closure.
Tony C Posted March 17, 2021 Posted March 17, 2021 (edited) I think that's about right. Mine was £8k - in London, 4 bay parking suspensions - 3 meters from boundary - 2 meter deep invert on the road - no road closure, but some traffic management as the connection was in the middle of the road. - the fee was excluding the Section 50 notice to Highways fee (£450) and Section 106 to Thames Water (£500) Edited March 17, 2021 by Tony C
Bonner Posted March 17, 2021 Posted March 17, 2021 Have you got space for a treatment plant? Cost would be about half that.
Mr Punter Posted March 17, 2021 Posted March 17, 2021 Not crazy but with that sort of figure I would get 3 quotes.
NewToAllOfThis Posted April 5, 2021 Posted April 5, 2021 I've had two quotes so far for 6 metres across private road, dig approx 1 metre deep. £6k and £7k, how can they demand such amount. It seems an activity to almost print money. I thought it would be a £3k job with plenty of profit to go around.
