JIH Posted November 22, 2020 Posted November 22, 2020 As part of completion paperwork Building Standards have requested a heat pump installation certificate for my ASHP. Has anyone in Scotland experience of this or have any idea of the regulation where this is cited? I've installed the heat pump myself and I'm not applying for any incentives. Thanks
PeterW Posted November 22, 2020 Posted November 22, 2020 Never heard of it - ask them what they want as there is no installation standard for a heat pump. Cylinder (if it’s a UVC) will need the Benchmark / Warranty completed.
joe90 Posted November 22, 2020 Posted November 22, 2020 Not in Scotland myself but BC only interested in the cert fir an unvented cylinder here fir my DIY ASHP instal
ProDave Posted November 22, 2020 Posted November 22, 2020 Yes as above, BC are not interested in the heat pump but do want the G3 UVC paperwork.
newhome Posted November 22, 2020 Posted November 22, 2020 If you have the electrical certificate they want I don’t see what else is needed. I didn’t have to provide anything special for my electric boiler and solar thermal. Why should a heat pump be any different?
JIH Posted November 22, 2020 Author Posted November 22, 2020 Thanks for your responses folks, very heartening. I'll stop fretting on this one. As said above my building inspector has requested such a certificate and I have requested of him why it's needed in my case, but no response - hence my query on here.
