Heating controls in a bank branch

Recommended Posts

Asking for a friend, the local community volunteers have a 6 month lease on what until a month or so ago was a branch of the Clydesdale Bank.

They have the lights, hot water and toilets working but not the heating. It’s vents in the ceiling and there’s no plant to be seen so assume it’s all above the suspended ceiling.

some pictures that wise folk might be able to decipher

It looks like it has an air-to-air heat pump system, basically a split air conditioning system that works both to cool and heat the air coming out of the ceiling grilles.  Daikin are a very well-known manufacturer, plus you have the manual.  There look to be errors showing on the display, so the first thing to check might be to try and decode the errors, using the manual.  Might be something as simple as the outdoor unit having been turned off, or it might be something more serious.  Doing a search for the displayed error codes, together with the term Daikin, may help track down what they mean.

The first thing I would try, is find the consumer unit, identify the power feed to it. Turn it off wait a few minutes and turn it back on, i.e. re boot it.

just before you do... some of the Daikin units need re-powering in a certain order. That may be that it’s outdoor unit first etc

Definite case of RTFM.

Ah, so a power cut and then back on, may have powered it up in the wrong order then.
