I've done about 100 windows, so not a prob for me, but Zoot the Hoot may well be better to wave a fiver at the fella.

What's the average lifespan for basic/ budget DG? k/soft coat.. blimey I don't know- I don't think they have a greenish sluggish tint. They may have a very very slight dark tint if anything. Getting in is child's play for me vs getting the 2 long b'stards out. I had no choice but crack the beading with a chisel to get a 1" gap.. then it was downhill but even so I had to deform the corner bit to pull it out. very stuck mine were. probably age of units. I'm going clear standard glass then. Can anyone give me a ballpark £ figure what this 750mm x 1000mm might be? I've not a clue. Waiting on quote from Co tmrw. Big Jimbo
I don't know about £20 but phone a few locals that you find online. The most successful glazing comp near my last house, charged twice what any other company did ! Go figure.
zoothorn
Got a quote for £33 inc vat. terrific- & local/ ready tues too. 1st time ever Ive found local £ beats online £. Thanks chaps- fab help on this (a job I had put off for 3.5 yrs!).
Oz07
Last time I checked I was paying around £28 m2 for standard clear units. Price might have changed since then tbf 33 doesn't sound bad. Check if you need glazing tape as most likely the glazing merchants will have in the factory. Usually if beaded externally it has glazing tape, beaded internally rubber gasket. Probably not always the case though.
zoothorn
@Oz07 what's the tape for? is it like the stuff I find around the perimeter/ edges of my shot DG?
Oz07
No some is held in by a compressible security tape sticking glass to frame other is just rubber gaskets. YouTube would explain better
Big Jimbo
No it is not the same Zoot the Hoot. Don't worry, You don't need any. You are internally glazed, and your old unit did not have any.
