daiking Posted October 12, 2016 Posted October 12, 2016 As it says on the tin. Old galvanised garage door. what could I do with it to make it useful? Don't forget this is me so keep it simple.
Barney12 Posted October 12, 2016 Posted October 12, 2016 Roof for a pallet shed I re-purposed one recently. I took a 9" grinder to it and cut it on into 4 so it would fit in the back of the van to go down to scrap merchants!
ProDave Posted October 12, 2016 Posted October 12, 2016 I think that would be the final straw if my shed built of pallets suddenly got topped out with an old up and over garage door. [joke] "I am going to build a shed out of pallets" "Over my dead body" "Is that where you would like me to put it?" [/joke]
daiking Posted October 17, 2016 Author Posted October 17, 2016 Still got this as no grinder to put it in a skip. Still looking for uses.

daiking Posted October 18, 2016 Author Posted October 18, 2016 (edited) So far, shed wall wins. although, I have just thought of using it as the base of a large solar heat collector cue, Rolling Stones Edited October 18, 2016 by daiking

Ferdinand Posted October 18, 2016 Posted October 18, 2016 (edited) Bend up the edges and make a 4 person sledge. Did that once with a van roof. Superb. Or repurpose it as a workshop door. Or retractable lid for something. Or the base for eg a mint bed or bamboo enclosure. If you like mint of bamboo. Or root barrier cut into strips. If you have a neighbour you dislike, paint a mural of Homer Simpson mooning, *then* put it their side with a note that painting it will be criminal damage. Edited October 18, 2016 by Ferdinand
Onoff Posted October 19, 2016 Posted October 19, 2016 I'm thinking OPENING roof for a garden observatory! .....haven't figured out quite how and still think a sliding one would be better but.....maybe a couple of tailgate struts off a van.....just imagine the noise in the rain! Actually I have a similar door and am going to build a GARAGE / garden machinery store around it!

I have p'eed the neighbours off quite enough already.

Onoff Posted October 19, 2016 Posted October 19, 2016 Pity you haven't got a second, matching door then you could make one of those drive through garages.....
Onoff Posted October 20, 2016 Posted October 20, 2016 If you were to cut a couple of window / door shaped holes in it it could be repurposed to cover a wall with unsightly, cracked brickwork..... INCOMING!
