We are installing a downstairs toilet in our extension but it will be 12 meters from the drain and the drop is only 1meter deep! Will this be enough to flush and not cause problems in the future or do i need a pump installed?

That should be ample, unless there is a big gotcha somewhere.

 

I think the required fall is 1:40, plus the size of the pipe, plus whatever you need above it.

That’s fine for a straight run - 1:40 to 1:80 is recommended so you will get 150-300mm drop over that distance. If you consider a rest bend is 450mm from ground level to invert so you have 250-400mm to play with there.
