  1. No. Openreach are unavailable to speak to. So they did not appreciate that they needed to cut some trees to get a line of site for an overhead cable run. The first engineer that discovered this did not leave any notes for a subsequent engineer. so the issue was repeated when he arrived. In between this there were 2 cancellations of my service altogether from my previous address because they cannot seem to arrange a home move correctly. On Tuesday last they just failed to turn up all day with no communication to me of any kind. They have lied about offering me dates for another visit. apparently waiting now for 3rd party permission to cut the trees. If they dont have this permission i dont see how they could offer me a new date. further proof that they lied to me. I am done with the incompetent idiots.
  2. I am so p1ssed off with BT/Openreach after 4 failed attempts to actually provide service at our new build. I give up and am thinking of a Starlink service. 4G/5G in this village is non existent. Does anyone have any first hand experience of Starlink. Tried the app yesterday and got a prediction of occasional dropouts due to 4.6% obstructions. But the direction of these obstructions is to the south. The mount would be on the north wall with the house behind me so no surprise the signal would not be good from behind.
  3. I have a pair of these spare if anyone wants them. Free to a good home but buyer collects
  4. I self installed my brink ducting. 200 sq metre 2 storey, with 90mm green ribbed semi rigid. Agree that it is a lot of work.Although its only semi rigid it gets to feel pretty rigid when trying to manipulate it through joists etc. I have 15 runs in total. I had to get a little creative with the routes up through to the loft from the ground floor. To the extent that even the Potton quality manager said, 'thats a good idea'. It goes together easily and very securely by the way as has been said already.
  5. Exactly, and thank you. As per the above observation from @SimonD , i did indeed have many conversations with the installer,( and others that i rejected because of their responses). The entire point of this story is that i have not had what i have actually already paid for. Now, i take on board all the advice about tuning and optimising what i have. i am truly grateful and it might be that this gets me to where i have a balanced upstairs and downstairs. As an aside, i realised today that if i am operating in pure WC mode then the Hallway mounted room 'stat that i stressed so much about moving is in fact not relevant to my temperatures.
  6. 40c if i remember correctly. I always wanted no more than 35 if possible. Downstairs UFH is operating at below 30 currently
  7. No they are not at the target temperature. And because i dont have seperate temperature control upstairs i wonder how it could be otherwise. Not withstanding that the radiators are the sizes specified by installer.
  8. I only really mentioned the Delta T figure because the discussion usually mentions a 7 degree Delta T when the topic comes up.
  9. No. Apologies, appear to have missed responding to that.
  10. So if i installed a mixer and ran the radiators at a slightly higher temperature. How would the UFH behave? bearing in mind the gentle .4 WC curve remains (perhaps not) #A: down mix temperature to some value and run for as long as ... well how long actually? #B: Run at the same temperature as the radiators but for a short period. Currently the Delta T is 3 degrees so the down mix would be minimal would it not.
  11. Yes its the 720/3 senso comfort and its on 'active' if i remember correctly. Rads are K2 at the sizes specified. I dont believe these are the issue. Not an expert and happy to be proved wrong but they have no option to be controlled seperately and that is what i asked for and is in my unqualified opinion the issue.
  12. Room stat is wired and downstairs, my choice to have it hardwired, possibly not one of my finest. The UFH actually heats the ground floor very well and therefore does indeed switch off at desired temp. As previously mentioned. The manifold temps this morning at 7 when it was heating were 25c flow & 22c return. ( analogue gauges on the pipework) The 35c i mentioned was the highest i hoped it would need to run at for efficiency sake and not a set temp. It looks like it does not even need to run that high yet. For info the WC curve is .4
  13. Vaillant Arotherm 5kw. 2 months old. one week since moving in.
  14. Thanks Nick. I think i have enough space to install a TMV to the 22mm pipe pairs. As an aside my flow & return temps gauges show 25c and 22c, so a Delta T of just 3 degrees. Still waiting to hear from my installer. I am about to become mister angry customer.
  15. Hi @Nick ? Can i recover this to an acceptable solution without major surgery?
  16. Exactly. Hence my question to my installer. I dont believe they have delivered what i asked for. As it happens, and totally unsolicited the MCS guys have asked if they can audit my install.
  17. The yellow vertical pipes come from the Ashp up through the slab and go left and up to the UVC. They are 28mm. On the manifold picture the 2 pipes come from the UVC area upstairs, they are 22mm. No TMV .
  18. Will do once i get home
  19. How so ? I have had potential installers design for and offer that and i rejected them because its a stupid idea.
  20. I just had a google of TMV. i do not have one of these as far as i can see anywhere.
  21. Apologies for late reply, we moved in over the weekend. What is the TMV, i think i can guess but not aware of it what it looks like or where it might be. Agree of course. Once the house is fully finished and everything optimised i dont expect the radiators to need to do much. But, the fact remains, i asked for a 2 zone installation with control of each independently.
  22. Come to think of it how is the radiator hot water supplied even if there is a temperature control for it? Surely it needs it own diverted hot water. I think i might have a bigger issue than i thought.
  23. Are the TRV’s set to 5, or ‘max’ for the purpose of testing? Yes they are . Can feel a little heat in the radiators today. not suprising as the flow temp will be down in the low 30's . So i think that this demonstrates there is no fundamental issue. Still waiting to hear why the installation company did not deliver what i asked for and therefore believe i paid for. Namely, a second zone, with its own temperature control.
  24. Waiting on a thernal camera but to be honest i have not felt any heat in the radiators. Dont expect much heat and with the current weather dont need it really. But, if there is an issue i need to sort it out soon. At the very least i believe my supplier should have installed a second zone & control for it.
