I need some of the ‘door gripper’ doorstops. The ones where a ball goes into a socket to hold the door open, and then needs a tug to release it. The reason is I need a door to stay open to allow a wheelchair through without the wheelchair keeping bashing the door open. Does anyone have any recommendations for such a product or similar? Hi Steve Welcome. My view is that Listed Buildings may become less desirable over time, due to enviro concerns and increasingly detailed micro-regulation. Our family restored and lived in a Derbyshire Hall over 40 years .. bought derelict in the mid 1970s. I would not do it myself. A non listed building of similar quality might be a different kettle of fish. Love your octagonal gun turret. ? Ferdinand

Questions 1 - How far back does this go? Can you claim back eg for a Planning Decision in 2015 that was 2 months late? 2 - Is it negated or extended if an extension agreement with the Council has been requested and accepted? maybe @Sensus might know. Ferdinand

And you get 3 colours at least .. black, great, terracotta. The first tIme I used was on the roof of a sun lounge to join corrugated to the house wall. Used B3 as this was back’ in 2013 or so. More recently used B2 for a similar role on a car port. Just look at the various options before choosing. I found the B2 easier by far to work with. There are also vids around. F

Ubiflex is also graded by flexibility. The inflexible ones are .. inflexible.

Can you drive unused slates or similar in like a rockery edging?

We now have about 6 walking sticks around the house, and I am looking for a way of keeping them tidy. There are lots of things for clipping to wheelchairs, tables, zimmers etc - but I want something for clipping a stick to a wall, so I can install one in the bedroom, one in the hallway, one by the walker storage spot etc Any ideas? I have in my head something like a version of this as one idea. Ideally it could attach with a command.com type non-damage system. Cheers Ferdinand

Looks a good job. I think the only thing I might have done differently would be to treat/paint the battens first so that the back was also fully protected. If doing a lot more I might have created a temporary long thin bath out of 2 battens and some polythene. F

It may be your easier solution would be some woodland and an overnight shed “Smallspaces” style, or something caravanny. Or sure whether the 28 day exception operates for woodland? But potentially you could play the split-between-owners and use the 28 day exceptions in sequence for a van. Or buy something and plant a woodland round it. F

RWelcome. Once the laws have changed, you could grow a cannabis plantation and suggest you need to be on site to defend it ?. Feed the weed to the enforcer and they won’t be able to remember where it was. We had a small listed manor, and they came once, then never came back for the next 30 years. When w3 asked them to come and advise when selling they could not even find it. We could all come and visit. (Serious people along in a minute)

Be sure you are aware of just how bendy the blue pipe is .... not a lot. And what that will say for radii of bends etc. F

I would hold put it everywhere else as well. But a nice design touch, and an excuse to give old fashioned looks to people who ask whilst standing on it.

I do not think we have a thread about how to display house numbers and names. This is an idea from a blog called The House that Black Built. It could also be done outside the gate in the paving. I like that as our numbers here are very confused. Ferdinand
