  1. Afternoon, I am planning on having solar panels on the front of my house, which is south-west facing. It looks like 9 panels giving 2.7Kw system, the house is 108sq.m gross internal and its just for me to live in and i work from home. Wil that be enough to cover my daytime needs, and if so do you think the will be much left over to warrant looking at a battery system to go with it ? here is the floor plans Ta J 2010-BC-SK01 rev G proposed plans and elevations.pdf
  2. Welcome ! Without know the full details, I would guess that its going to need another planning application to get the access and drive issue sorted out, and that's something that is down to the sellers, before you agree to buy. Or sale agreed subject to PP being granted etc. if you do it with an offer to reflect that. J
  3. It’s a bit of an issue around here
  4. Hi, i would chose a cavity wall over the solid wall, and to overcome the flooding - build a plinth wall on the outside of the cavity wall, with a tanking membrane between the external skin and the plinth up to a level above the flood level. the plinth could be engineering brickwork. And on top of that you can fit floor barriers to the doors. J

  17. Hi all, here is my proposed house, its an end of terrace and the appearance was constrained by the planners to match the existing row of houses. It is only a small dwelling but perfectly formed i have planning for it without the rooms in the roof and i'm just waiting for the PP for this scheme, but the planning officer said he is not keen on the all the roof windows and extra window in the gable ! Fingers crossed. J 2010-BC-SK01 rev F proposed plans and elevations.pdf
  18. Ahh it maybe what I just thought off. I just looked again It looks like they are well below the FFL so they are not telescopic z vents ?
  19. Hello ! nice looking house and render, i'm planning on my build having K render on a timber frame, i'm having trouble sorting the telescopic vents out with which is effectively a single skin of blockwork below the dcp. How have you done it so that the air bricks are flush with the face of the blockwork ? J
  20. Hi , i notice that your 'z' vents have ben built on the outside of the blockwork, how are you going to accommodate them now, as i am just trying to resolve this detail ?
  21. Hello, I'm new and I'm planning on building a house with a timber frame, so I'm sure that there will be a few questions from me on that! :) Jason
