No it's an R Whites product ?

I would say keep an eye on Facebook local marketplace - for example I've just got PAR 2x3 for £2 a 2.4m length - had 50 with £10 del. The person also had a batch Cornova(?) 20mm flooring at £10 a sheet, cheaper than basic chipoard.

Thought I would finished the tread off with a conclusion. Ended up buying EVOLUTION FURY5-S 255mm Multipurpose Table Saw. Thought were I could buy a mitre saw for the price which could be OK at one thing but I suspect I would never be happy with it. A saw table always for more things even if I won't be totally happy with most of those but this is about the best I'll get under £500 I recon. And I got it for £140 with is about as much as I can afford. As long as I'm careful with it, it should be ok for a few years.

Think that bad, 3 years ago in our old house the Mrs said "I either want to move or we have a new kitchen" so we had a new kitchen, this is how it went. We found a place not far who did the German handless she wanted. They came out to do the design, by then we had already bought a double oven, induction hob and extractor so their quote and design had to include fitting these. We ordered paying 50% with another 30% on delivery and 20% when we signed off that we we satisfied. They were going start work in ten weeks. I had agreed to strip the kitchen, which I did in time for them to start work, the kitchen at ten weeks amount to a tap on the wall. As the end of the ten weeks got closer I started to wonder when their electronics was coming to put in the line for the ovens etc. He never arrived so on week nine I contacted them to ask what was going on. The next day someone arrived and suddenly the cost of this wasn't in the quote, the kitchen would be delayed and we waited for the electrics and even worse - we had to find a plasterer because the one they use was booked up for months. Then silence, no electrician - At this point I took things into my own hands and starting from Thursday I had another electrician in, he had fitted a new fuse board, 2 dedicated lines, I had boarded & skimmed the ceiling. Now the kitchen company had no excuse to not start the job the following Monday. Monday came and went, a call and threat to cancel brought a promise of Wednesday 8am. 9am wed I'm on the phone "The van has broken down" another threat to cancel gets a van to turn up a 2pm. 4pm another man arrives and ask for the 30% as the kitchen has been delivered. I told him a few things are not a kitchen and showed him the door. 2 days later a few more things arrive and a man starts fitting the kitchen. When he gets to the fitting the sink it's broken - another week of arguments result in a new sink arriving and our man comes back to continue the job. He gets to the wall cupboards and the doors are the wrong kind. We specifically asked for a door that folds up in two because my mrs is a shorty. No we didn't is the reply and another week is wasted arguing. Then we realise they hadn't included the cupboard for boxing in the boiler - this alone was a cost of £800 and it was nowhere to be seen and the company spend 2 weeks finding one. By the time the fitter declared himself finished we had gone ten weeks without a working but although the fitter did a good job the were still things he didn't have that needed doing. So when the boss arrived for his final payment I told him I was withholding 10% for the trouble we had and the delays. Of cause he said we can do that but none the less he wasn't getting his final payment till he had re-invoiced with the discount I wanted. So in the end he took use to court which cost him about £90 and the judgement was in out favour. But we still moved house and now we are about to order another kitchen ?

Yea but that would mean take the wood to the saw for each cut up and down stairs etc. I don't have my power saw with me it's a 8 hour trek to get it. My thought is I would get a mitre saw now for this job and then use the power saw for a saw bench later. There by having both crosscut and rip saw in my nice new workshop I'll be making. But I've been spoilt by using professional workshops in the past. Can't be having all this check check adjust ? I think I'll probably just have to get in the car this week unless Screwfix have a discount ?
-
Yea, see it's content checking & adjusting I can't stand.
-
Interesting, but does it cut true ?
-
Erbauer does one for just over £100 with 254mm cut. I found this brand not bad value at all, I have 18v products from this brand. But it's the cut quality I'm after so looking for people who have used these low cost brands. I have a circular saw I can use if I want to spend 8 hours getting it but if I get a mitre saw now I can use the circular as a saw bench when I build my workshop and the mitre saw as a snappy cross cut saw.
-
Really? Evolution was a range I had ruled out really like Draper.
-
These are things you never know till you use, I just want one that will cut about 250mm x 25mm with a decent straight cut. Is going down to the £60 range worth it? can't afford much more. Idea please.

I love Skirting boards! In fact I've found replacing those, Architrave and electric sockets for more new or modern replacements really pays of in look and value of a property, add in some coving in the right type of property and you are quids in. I'm about to replace this 4in naff "council" style skirting here with 8in Torus. I've decided because the walls run off all sorts of angles I'm not even going to join them together. I'm simply going to cut them square to length and end them all with a square section of timer.

In my experience - had them running wild in my first house, up and down the water pipes, on the stair and under the floor - They tend to smell vile when breeding. Don't know if the give off some sort of scent. Never really noticed a smell from dead ones and we must have had plenty because the poison got rid of them in the end ?
-
Yea that was a typo or confrustration ?

What I mean was whatever the secret word for this is. In my logical head something that holds a light socket. But for some reason the terminology is all different. Some might call it a lamp holder but that's the wire connection. Being dyslexic all this physically hurts my head ? Here's what I was talking about, you can argue among each other what it's called ? because I found it using "DOWN LIGHT FITTING MR16" it's not ideal in design but it'll do.
-
No, the downlight sockets. I'm just venting really to be honest.
-
I have some GU16 bulbs and lamp wire but how come when I search for sockets to put these in the ceiling I have guess which ones fit. The only time I see distinguishing is when they are labelled GU10 do people just guess? What's the secret ?

Well it sounds like you need to section it and in each section put drain grill to take the running water. You can either direct the water down the drain to either side or run a pipe the length of the drive and find an outlet for it.
-
As I think other have suggested getting the water to seep though the gravel into a drain if the best bet. But anything porous under the gravel will do the trick but you could put a drain system in as extra cost. Cheapo me might do cheapo way - After clearing the gravel to one side put down a plastic sheet, then put the plastic grid they use to protect grass so cars can park on grass, then some everyday porous garden blackout, then put the gravel back. Idea being the rain quickly seeps though the gravel down to the plastic sheet then runs off down hill under the gravel so doesn't take the gravel with it. A little test area would cost much.

What do you think of something like this, caught my eye for the ruse protection https://www.amazon.co.uk/HAILI-Monitoring-Equipment-Accessories-Security/dp/B07R1YNG8Y/ref=pd_sbs_147_5/261-3696974-7025443?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_i=B07R1YNG8Y&pd_rd_r=de42ad9c-ce87-4713-9db2-3615cf297f8e&pd_rd_w=BnYs4&pd_rd_wg=nBa0G&pf_rd_p=96cae456-8d7a-4bc1-91c7-9b20b4dfd7c9&pf_rd_r=9BQPNF9D56V6CG6Y7X93&psc=1&refRID=9BQPNF9D56V6CG6Y7X93

I suppose I could just use a computer power supply.

Yes switches do seem a problem, I had thought wifi switches were a solution but they run of battery and I don't want go around chasing for them every 3 months. I had wondered if I could hack those to run a lead in to replace the battery but then my mind does tend to wonder. Some places I could use movement sensors. We won't be selling the house so anything I do is fine, might even make some out of wood ?

So I'm renovating our home while living it in and on a very strict budget, we currently have no income. I want to get on and do as much as I can while I have the time. One thing we want to do is reduce the electric bill to a minimum long term so I was thinking eventually to run things like lights & chargers of 12v via solar but the catch is I need to replace the ceilings & do repairs to the roof. I can do some work myself now. So when I do the ceilings I want to install the lighting 12v so I need a way to do that without using lots of transformers. I think running all the cables to a fusebox > battery which is charged via the main perhaps? but I don't know. Our cottage has small windows so we use the light a fair bit, right now the lights on in the living room it's that dark with the rain.

Well I've just bought a cheap 8x4 shed to lay concrete. I did think about a brick frame to lift it off the ground but decided on laying a thick plastic sheet over then putting the floor down and then folded the overhang of the sheet back over the floor - I put extra supports in including some cheap lost boarding over the floor and around the wall. I covered the roof board in more plastic before applying the felt and also used a few rolls of flashing on the root and around the door. Finally all holes were filled both inside and out. If any of that helps, if you want to lay bricks do it, if you place a line of bring on the floor straight you can also do with mortar so no big secret to that.

No it was for the water, but as others have said most mixer cartridges are changed from the front anyway. What I would say is make sure you get a clean system. After six months of fitting ours we had a problem and I assumed the cartridge had gone but when I opened it all up all it was was some flux had got trapped in the filter washer mesh on the hot flow.
