  1. Yeah the wall is random stone ; so no chance of a nice level mortar line to cut . At least now when I get a quote I know what to ask ? cheers ! ?
  2. Hey ! ok - that all makes sense ! In the video though he has a nice flat wall ; mines ‘natural’ uneven stone . Is it the same principle just more work ? ?
  3. Hey all Getting my cement particle board down which will have edpm on it . I’m not going to install it ? But what should I do at the edges ? . I presume he can’t just stick the edpm up stone !!!! Does the installer provide some ‘fillet’ to get over this somehow ?? Cheers
  4. “ picture yourself as a turd “ ???????
  5. Now there’s an idea ! A small project for @Onoff ; can supply his hydraulic shower head as well ?
  6. Thanks nick . pretty sure I’ve got that straight in my head . Will get the parts assemble then stick a photo up before I pour concrete over the lot ?
  7. Thanks ! just one final question do I glue this pipe work together ?
  8. Do I really need one ? Down pipe straight into horizontal pipe ; can’t I stick one at the end ??? ; just rainwater .....
  9. More complex I am afraid . That would go to a sump and main drain . This way its water harvesting I.e into a tank
  10. IC ? What’s that ? ?
  11. No other route will have edpm uinder it
  12. A photo!; even better. Wobbly red line shows intended path for down pipe - so it would be 1 continuous thing; no traps; access etc. as will be embedded in concrete. People like photo's - note how I have tidied up the front. First time it's been that clean in 4 years!
  13. A rubbish drawing is worth a thousand words!
  14. Ok. Called a few drainage channel suppliers and they said not to do this as it could flood the drainage channel. So! Shall I just have my down pipe go into my concrete 'base' and straight across the plot ? (i.e. down pipe into 45 deg then pipe across) Drainage channel as a separate thing i.e. down pipe not into it? ta!
  15. Hey all, I will have a slot drain at the front of my house (land slopes away from house) as a precaution against water running towards the build. I also intend to use this to collect water off the roof from the far side and have it run into the slot drain (so it drains on the other side of the plot). Am I ok to just connect the down pipe straight into the slot drain end? (slot drain etc. will be embedded in concrete ; so never be able to gain access to this 'connection'). Or should I do this a different way to allow for any future drainage issues.....?? ta!
  16. No wonder this bathroom never gets finished ?
  17. appointed builder today ! we are looking at 50k excluding loft ( this is half done , new roof , velux , steels - so not too bad ) i will estimate 7k for loft ( awaiting architect to do building regs ) also will replace all windows and doors - around another 10k - but larger firms offer 0% finance on 66% of it . Got a hospital appointment today for an endoscope under general anaesthetic. My logic is if I don’t survive that I won’t really care about the builder ! Will post some pics of the lovely house ‘before ‘ soon ...
  18. Oh man ! My reasoning was the same as yours “just because I can”
  19. Can you make me one also ?
