  1. Well! This is their 'design' guy. I get the impression he just looked at the dimensions and did that i.e. he HAS NOT been given the previous email correspondence from the original guy I spoke to. I've checked back and it seems all fine. I think there's been no comms i.e. opening size 500 x 600 and that's it. So he just dumps that in a hole and says "thats all you put online". That's because that's all the online order allows. BUT! I have email's confirming the 'method' ; so! . I suspect the cost will now go up as the units he will of realised are larger!!!. I'm 100% in the right now! (for once).
  2. I don't F'ing believe this! So the *new* glazing company... I tell them 'internal' measurements / opennings over and over again so there is NO CONFUSION! They told me they don't do drawings for 'supply only' but I told them to do a drawing!!!! Just got it!. Can you guess what they've done?. Stuck the bleeding windows in the holes not over them!!!. I don't get it!. From there drawing it would bloody leak and I don't see how you'd even fix it! I did speak to them ages ago and confirmed a 'shoe box' lid ; stuck over up stands. Now they've got back too me and said "we're only going on what you supplied'. YES! and I said INTERNAL! - of course they argue that's exactly what it is !!!! Here's the drawing! ; did they really think this would work as a water tight method??? So now the units are 'bigger' so the quote was wrong!!!!! FFS! MUST BE ME!
  3. Unsticking this without tearing not possible
  4. Hey Peter problem is the rubber is all is all over it . I’d end up cutting it . Could do that and patch it ???? Lol - I just texted my wife so was in ‘wife’ mode . At the end of the above message I put kisses . I promptly deleted them ! . Back in buildhub mode ?
  5. Ffs ! tnt ; next day delivery ; turns up 3 days late . Ordered 3 items , but am expecting 4 parcels ? ; just flashing has turned up Just placed it in grove too see - need to cut deeper . Also to get ‘over’ the stone bumps recon I can ‘hammer’ around them and deform the metal . No one ever sees it ?
  6. Oh yeah I read that before was more worried due to lack of depth ( hence just sand ) and also the depth of 80mm - thought they might ‘wack’ down less
  7. Yeah paving blocks . 80mm deep , 100mm wide and I think maybe 400mm long . Buggers to lay I’m guessing ?
  8. Ok Will I still need to lay the blocks proud by say 5mm i.e will they still wacker plate down ?
  9. ? We are meant to park on it but in reality never will . I did the driveway in my old house the conventional way and actually parked on it no issue . Perhaps different (??? ) sand for this one ???
  10. Please someone say yes
  11. Or get a nice long armed pump ! Makes the job easier and truck can be a mile away ?
  12. Ok I will have a concrete slab but not much depth to get pavers in . My superior has chosen pavers that are 80mm thick - so that really helps . At the deepest end (concrete base to finish ) I’ve got maybe 18cm . Plot slopes so going down to 12cm ? As my ‘base’ is solid do I skip the mot1 and just do sand ? This is above living accommodation so suds etc. not an issue cheers
  13. Hello mate , Can I have some of your absurdly expensive concrete delivered to my delayed self build . Best price mate . never works ?
  14. Come on flashing turn up !!!
  15. So , as you can see from the photos the ‘professionals’ did the edpm really high up this wall I.e it would be visible above the final floor level . ( you can see the level to the right , so why the imbeciles did this I know not ) Ive cut it back - but this goo , glue is all over the stone work - sticky as hell . whats the best way to get it off ? Acid wash ? ( not now ! Don’t fancy that on the edpm !! )
  16. Waiting for flashing to arrive . what annoys me is that it wasn’t difficult or time consuming ( with a good blade ) . ’Just glue the shit out of everything ‘ - not good practice. I can see once I have the trim it will kick out in places -.So much primer and glue everywhere can’t easily peel the rubber back . i guess at the worse spot if it’s just 1cm embedded in the wall is better than none . And yes will CT1 the joints to bits
  17. Well ! i got the first Batton up and begin cutting . Not going to happen - hardly scratch the stone went and bought new diamond blades (£40 each !!! ) zooooooooooommmmmm !!!!!!!!
  18. Don’t know . I *assumed* once it sticks it sticks ? . That not the case ? . Is there nothing ct1 can’t be used for ? ?
  19. Yeah but the lumpy stone has edpm over it . Is it ‘safe’ to cut the lump and edpm out at that point then patch later ?
  20. Mission received and understood! ?
  21. Are you suggesting no flashing just magic CT1 smeared over the edges ? . Never used CT1 - and before there’s a panic I am doing to the flashing !!
  22. Yeah 150mm is up at the edges . Problem is it’s just glued to the rough stone work with living accommodation below . So in time , water runs down stone and behind edpm - hence the flashing . I also think the tradesmen was less concerned as concrete is to be poured over the edpm as well . But this will shrink and I suspect a hairline crack at the edges .
