  1. SE’s over spec by about 350% !!! . Mine told me this - then I got him to drop the spec ( probably still 200% of what’s needed )
  2. Yeah they do look excellent; might go for one of those !
  3. £399 here https://www.paintsprayer.co.uk/wagner-hea-250r

    No chance !
  5. I do genuinely feel your pain . I got ripped off i.e poor job on my critical flat roof .Had to get it re done . Hang on in there - it is worth it !
  6. Guys - just live underground, nice and cool ???
  7. Yeah I guess if access is tricky then a z wave window is good . I recommend indigo on a Mac to control everything.
  8. Know the feeling ! For the structural steel I insisted the company come out and measure . Most weren’t interested in the trip even if relatively local . So I offered one £100 for a site visit . They came out , measured and supplied the steel . Best £100 i’ve spent... Especially if your build doesn’t match the drawings to the mm ...
  9. I’m going to pretty much automate everything and I could see very little reason to do this with window opening and closing .
  10. Yep I do have a warm roof so I am hoping length of in/out pipes is less critical. Oops - I’ve accidentally attached something! ? 8CAD9864-BECD-47F9-9CC9-A2D521BF347A.MOV
  11. The trusses as they are shouldn’t have plasterboard screwed to them ???
  12. Oh I don’t suspect it’s a problem for a skilled man like you . But erm , heights - on a roof ????????? If I attempted it would result in a post topic titled “I fell off my roof “
  13. Resting around the pool ‘thinking’ before my Tai Chi session ( yang style apparently) . Tbh a day never goes by ( even on holiday ) without me thinking about the build ...
  14. I read it was best to avoid the roof due to the associated cost and hassle ( I can’t do heights ) ! Is there a maximum length the air intake/out can be ? Or is it simply as short as possible???
  15. Mvhr is the dog now . Assume you want the air in/out pipework as short as possible . But if tanks in the middle wherever I mount the mvhr will be a fair distance from a suitable external wall .
  16. Access still seems a pig was hoping for one loft hatch to access header tank and mvhr ! . But don’t think that will be possible especially as I wanted neither above a bedroom which leaves just the bathroom and hallway . As I can see header tank must be central of trusses . Mvhr erm .....
  17. But anyway that seems simple enough to do .... thanks ! ?
  18. Ah I see ! . Does this apply even if my truss though is supported at its centre point by a stud wall ? . Can understand if the total truss span is unsupported. When I get back will stick a photo up of the central section .
  19. Sorry when I say ‘water tank’ I of course mean header tank . Googling seems to suggest it doesn’t require any particularly special platform .
  20. Because you either install it now or never ! I know there’s a big debate over the ROI with these . But I think it should be compulsory on new builds . Also you are ‘helping the environment ‘ a bit ...
  21. What do you mean by ‘standard details ‘ ? . It’s not in the plans as it’s a header tank supplied with rainwater harvesting system ( once I purchase it ).
  22. Yes I was thinking ( not clear in that photo ) that the centre of the trusses all sit on a partition wall ; so that would be a good place to mount mvhr and water tank - but access will be a dog !
  23. Not sure if I need to add extra timber for strength . Say 4x2 going 90 degrees across the trusses ; necessary ???
  24. Although away I am still thinking about this .... So T&G chipboard is ok sat on those trusses ? . I’m allowing for just my weight and mvhr unit . Will deal with header tank later . As I will have to cut each board around each rafter ( ?! ) I assume I screw noggins into the trusses to support the chipboard where it’s joint isn’t supported by a truss . See it’s not all fun in the sun!
