  1. The procrastinator will do nothing The wise man will walk away The foolish man will do it and be damned ! ’Pocster 2020 Ode to knowledge’
  2. That’s one of the reasons I choose dimmable and tiltable . Deliberately so I can compensate/adjust . I’m going with 4 ceilings lights . Based on @Onoff ‘s pic . It’s not a massive room so perhaps I was getting carried away !!
  3. What distance are your down lighters from the wall ?
  4. 5 ? Are you counting the recess lights ?
  5. Yeah . Symmetry is my driving point !
  6. Argh ! Those extra bloody noggins are in the way ! . Decided to not even screw to them !
  7. But do I take the slopes ceiling into account !! Aaaasrrrrggghhh ! I just want to cut some holes !
  8. It’s all too complicated! Think I might go for this !!
  9. Hmmmm 62cm from wall puts me right in timber ! 45 cm seems safe .
  10. I think 3 lights in a row is too much Bathroom width 1.8mm Length 3.15m ( but actually 2.55 ceiling ) Perhaps 2 per row and only 2 rows ? Should point out lights are dimmable ( as a collective bit individually) . Also can be tilted . This ??
  11. So ! I’ve got the first sheet of plaster board up . Bathroom width is 1.88m My plan was to have 3 rows of lights - 1 metre apart from each row ( approx 4 rows ) .Not sure if this is best ? My question though is what distance should a recessed light be from a wall ? 30cm ?? cheers
  12. Plenty of space for an underground one then ! . What’s wrong with you ?! An easy project . 100% I could get you planning ( my fee first please )
  13. If you have a mower like that it must be a large plot . Large enough to build a house on !!
  14. Yeah. The remote via the app with Synology is pretty good. Also remote access to my server directly with security spy seems good. Haven't tried direct with the NAS yet remotely. But so far it's all looking pretty good and stable. Lots and lots of things to setup and play with in due course; but for now I should probably focus on finishing the house build a bit more!
  15. Well! I set my Synology DS1019+ up! 1 drive for nvr ( so no raid or anything) the other 4 for shr. Only just realised that the 4 drive as shr will only allow for 1 drive failure. AFAIK I need to unmount those 4 drives. Physically remove a drive. Set them up as shr (just the 3 now). Then add the 4th drive and magically shr-2 (2 drive failure) will be supported. There's nothing on those NAS drives so not an issue. 2 camera's continually streaming seems to cause very little cpu load. Ram used is around 6%, cpu sits at around 9%. So it's good to know the system isn't straining. The camera's are streaming at 4MP. I intended at least another 2. Synology DSM software seems pretty decent - certainly better than some dedicated NVR stuff. Not without a few issues which seem to be browser based ( worked fine in Chrome, then live view didn't; swapped to Safari and it seems perfect - though it suggests swapping to Chrome!). Remote viewing via the app seems pretty good. Though I need to fiddle with it to improve performance. Also have security spy on my HA mac - this provides an interface to the HA. So I can 'do something' when motion etc. is triggered. Both camera's are Hikvision. The Hikvision DS-2CD2563G0-IS/B seems maybe problematic .
  16. Nah. It’s timber frame under the marine ply .
  17. Thought I might get away with it Sometimes you try things and let them go - other times you come back and change it . Also I put the horizontal boards up first so it didn’t appear to tight to the slope . Then I swapped and did the slopes first ...
  18. Might sell it to Z after for 5 grand
  19. F me . Can you imagine ! A full sized moisture resistant board would be a dog on your own . With out lifter I’d be stuffed !
  20. I did notice the issue with the vent - if you read back ?
  21. If I screw up positioning light holes it’s just a new piece of plasterboard . As I said even plasterer said do this . He said he can skim round them perfectly
  22. I’m on my own so need one
  23. No chance ! Even checked with the plasterer - he said cut them first . More work for him but better for me !!
  24. He can scrape them out ! ? I’ll send him photos first too see if he wants anything altered , then he won’t be miserable on the day . Got to cut back the vent and cut 2 holes for down lighters
