  1. @joe90 well the supplier didn’t seem to know ( can’t find a direct number for Oman. ) . So joe ! - if your ladder was fully extended ( let’s say 2.3m ) how far do the ladder legs touching the floor extend beyond the base of the hatch ?
  2. @joe90 the mini termo seems decent I.e small and avoids cutting trusses . Just can’t work out how much the fully extended ladder extends beyond the box . Think I’ll call them
  3. Crumbs ! That looks very decent for the money . I said ‘joists’ I meant trusses . Span is around 7metres . I would only need to cut one . My drawings are crap as you know - so here’s a useless photo instead
  4. Guys ! I should of pointed out the loft won’t be for storage . Just access to the AAV and some electrics . So I won’t be going up and down it all the time .
  5. So it’s perfect !
  6. Seems *too* cheap ? Looks like the steps don’t go much wider than the hatch .... could mount in between trusses ?? https://www.laddersandscaffoldtowers.co.uk/acatalog/Concertina-Loft-Ladders.html?gclid=EAIaIQobChMI8ciF3Mn16QIVhrHtCh1MuwvNEAQYCSABEgIQ-vD_BwE
  7. True . I can imagine the thread “Pocster’s dead - what do I get ? “ . Hundreds and hundreds of pages .
  8. Should I prepare my will just in case ? Who wants to be left some glazing ?
  9. Walk on glazing has many , many uses as you’ve implied . This though would be an inappropriate use of it .
  10. Think I might bolt across it all . Stick a photo up here BEFORE I cut . It would be deeply upsetting if I’m crushed in my own house .
  11. I use a very specific CAD program - it came free with some walk on glazing . I think I only need to cut 1 . The joists do indeed run straight across the width of the mansion .
  12. Could do . It would look well tacky and crap .
  13. Tempted to put loft hatch in bedroom entrance as ladder could run into the ensuite . Avoids ‘fear’ of cutting joists ...
  14. Erm . Not 100% sure what you mean . I’m weary of electrics and structural things . Drawing of what I have Drawing of ‘my plan ‘
  15. Yeah I tried that . My jousts are about 10cm past the door way so won’t fit .

    Job done
  17. See . Now I thought that . But I’m scared to cut a structural joist .... Assumed it was a bad plan ...
  18. I assumed a loft hatch with an attached loft ladder would make access easier for me . Problem is my hallway is 1.2m and joists run across it approx 57cm wide. ( so I can’t run it length ways down the hall ) My concern is a ladder won’t come fully down without hitting the wall . I’ve looked at the concertina ones ; can’t workout with the ladder extended how far it goes past the edge of the opening I.e will it hit the wall ? Anyone got one ?
  19. Mental or sheer brilliance!!? !
  20. ? Its now cleaner than a babies bum !
  21. Ok . It’s not a water tight seal ( lifted drain further down the line and there is a slight trickle ) . It’s a ‘partial’ test . No indication of any leaks in underground bunker
  22. I think the meter readings suggest what you expect . No button press 10.5v ish pressed 0v ? So the sensor is wired to 5v - the in1 binary is set on gnd . Are all the gnds to the same gnd ? I.e all tied together . I know it’s a stupid question ?
  23. Because I want a water tight seal and I love expanding foam ! ?
  24. Blocked drain . Just need foam to set then will half fill . Opted for water in the end not wine ?
  25. Actually perhaps I should fill the pipe with WINE! ?
