  1. No sleep for anyone tonight until I win . Knew I should of dug down another level
  2. Ffs ! Lets do it by volume . What’s your floor to ceiling height ?
  3. Yeah I could do that. It would be easy to add. I did think of things like that some time ago. But playing with these things will need to take a back seat for now....
  4. Can't have plasterboard ceiling. Too much of a PITA . Also I want access to everything everywhere - because of the eclectic layout..... ?
  5. HMMMM! 92m2 But that's allowing for finished wall to finished wall. Bet @Thorfun is cheating and using just floor area. I also have my dungeon courtyard - I should add that in really; which is 24m2 So total is 116m2 - funny how I win by 1m2 - my measuring though is rather "subjective" - anyway ... I WIN!
  6. (expletive deleted) THAT! - Measuring it now!
  7. Not sure how you are going to measure "performance " ? My view of performance will be how small the electric bill is. I *could* in theory add HA to water tank ( even every electrical appliance and socket ) so I could see exactly what is using how much. But - I'm sure exactly how useful all that info would be.
  8. FFS mine 98m2!!! BOLLOCKS! - going to measure it accurately later. I AM DUNGEON KING!
  9. Not sure what the question is here? Monitor it? ; my PV production, how full or empty a battery is? ; my daily consumption/export? - you mean all that?? Through the APP! - come on Cornwall catch up!
  10. Tesla installs are at least a 6 month wait; I've been told. I believe you are 3 phase - so you could in theory have 3 of the bad boys. SolarEdge ( as I said may for install ) so that's not too bad. No idea about SE - but @Nickfromwales is a plumber/tiler - not sure his expertise expands into battery storage .?
  11. It was only because the installer who bothered to reply to my many questions recommended SE. ( probably they don't do SW ). I email loads of companies on anything I am interested in. No reply, or a weak reply, or just a "brochure attached " means I bin them. If they can survive 10 emails of questions then it shows me they want my business and $$$$$. I would add another Tesla battery but aren't allowed . With SE I can do what the (expletive deleted) I want.
  12. I don't know. I think a timber structure then perhaps with plasterboard for the recess will be quite heavy. I don't like doing neat timber work.......
  13. What are your dungeons dimensions? - better not be bigger than mine otherwise I shall add an underground extension!
  14. One thing you should be aware of as I've been told by all suspended ceiling suppliers - it will look like a Swindon Office block ceiling ....
  15. Yep I believe that is exact what I am doing. 1st Solar Edge battery goes in in May; will allow space to piggy back another 2.
  16. Reckon depth of these 'supports' is around 300mm
  17. Well (expletive deleted)ing helpful ?
  18. Not sure of the best way to deal with this. The suspended system relies on tracks around the perimeter and then structs crossing it to form a grid. I've got skylights and a stairwell to contend with. I need to construct somehow a 'structure' around these so the suspended ceiling trim can fix. Any suggestions welcome
  19. Yes WP. Let me re-phrase. I am not allowed anymore export i.e. I have 2 x 3.66 inverters ( one for pv other on Tesla battery ). Apparently that's my limit. I should mention I'm not particularly worried about export - I want to keep as much as I generate as possible. They did inform me that in my area for future installs they may have to limit it to 3.66Kw. The example she gave was if all my immediate neighbours all suddenly decided to have PV and export they would have to reduce export due to infrastructure limitations. DNO's are under lots of pressure. Government says 'go green' yet the DNO has to manage the variable export that could occur ( bet they have fun in summer )
  20. I've got to start thinking about my suspended ceiling on the underground mega dungeon. Current 'ceiling' is beam and block or just concrete. I can't seem to find any details about the minimum distance the suspended has to be from the existing. I *recall* from somewhere 100mm. That correct? We are planning recessed lighting. But again as modern recessed lights tend to generate very little heat and are slimmer ( plus also zero timber i.e flammable above ) then perhaps I need not worry? Cheers
  21. That's the most disgusting euphemism I've ever heard.
  22. Sure thing. My DNO needs to be informed if I wish to have more export potential ( which they've capped ). Adding extra PV and battery on the inverter side means export won't exceed my limit. Installer confirmed this and so did DNO. So in theory you could have a GigaW of PV and equally the same of battery storage. As long as it all connects to the grid via the limited inverter ( 3.66Kw in my case )
  23. You would only notify your DNO if it was a new install yes ? . I’m adding extra PV and don’t need to inform DNO
  24. One day.... https://www.onyxsolar.com/product-services/photovoltaic-glass-solutions/pv-floor
  25. Install at Zoots for sure ! . Don’t think it will fit in the bedroom though …
