  1. i have some first gen Sonos speakers which i won't upgrade. i don't like the way they dropped the support on the newer apps for them. anyway, i digress, our speakers also would drop the signal. after a quick google i found that they were still trying to use the proprietary wireless connectivity. when i switched it to wifi instead the signal no longer drops.
  2. ok. so if fitting in to one of those 1/2" wall-plate elbows I would need a rubber washer in there? I'll have to see if one comes with the fitting.
  3. i can recommend our lighting designer if you want someone. wasn't too costly for a concept design. https://www.instagram.com/elenishiarlislighting/
  4. just don't put a grid of spots like here! ps. obviously, you can if you want as each to their own.
  5. i don't really remember! i'm pretty sure i bought as and when i needed it from SF. i found them the cheapest on hep2o stuff and i have one just over 5 minutes from my house. so i am constantly popping there when i've forgotten something. for long rolls of hep2o it's often collect next day so you do need some kind of planning. i have purchased some bits from JTM on @Pocster's recommendation but have since looked after they were bought out by PlumbingSuperstore and their prices seem not as competitive now. Plus, a local Screwfix will take parts back for a refund with no questions asked and that's very beneficial when you don't know what you're doing and buy every part you think you might need just in case! 🤣
  6. can you tell i'm bored at work?
  7. @crispy_wafer even cheaper at B&Q! https://www.diy.com/departments/pegler-yorkshire-tectite-push-fit-90-wallplate-pipe-elbow-dia-15mm-dia-12-7mm-15mm/5022050670687_BQ.prd
  8. i'm only using copper where it will be visible and where it is needed. for example on my plumbing thread i need a wall plate connection for the shower head. looks like the hep2o version is now plastic so i don't trust that. so will convert to copper (either pushfit or compression) for that connection. but as you can see on that thread from my iBox install it's hep2o all the way!
  9. and here's a Pegler Tectite version https://www.toolstation.com/pegler-yorkshire-tectite-sprint-wallplate-elbow/p26550 afaik, Pegler are a quality push fit copper manufacturer and i have a Toolstation 5 minutes from my house. could pick some up on my way home from work.
  10. think i'm going to have to do a lot more research on the difference between flat and tapered as i'm confused and can't tell the difference.
  11. i wonder if something like this is the ticket? https://www.wickes.co.uk/Primaflow-Copper-Pushfit-Wall-Plate-Elbow---1-2in-X-15mm/p/194595 can put a length of copper pipe joining the hep2o to this with no compression or solder.
  12. looks tapered to me
  13. these https://www.screwfix.com/p/hep2o-plastic-push-fit-adapting-male-coupler-22mm-x-3-4/5653f and then a reducer down to 15mm https://www.screwfix.com/p/hep2o-plastic-push-fit-stem-coupler-f-15mm-x-m-22mm/8401f
  14. Seems like the Hep2o version is plastic. https://www.screwfix.com/p/hep2o-plastic-push-fit-adapting-90-wall-plate-elbow-15mm-x-1-2-/2279f?ref=SFAppShare seems pretty strange that. I can convert to copper and get a compression version though I guess.
  15. I think this is what I’m after? but in a Hep2o version https://www.screwfix.com/p/jg-speedfit-plastic-push-fit-adapting-90-wall-plate-elbow-15mm-x-1-2-/17692?ref=SFAppShare
  16. Always wanted to start a company called "Bodge-it and Leg-it". think it sums up my plumbing skills to be honest
  17. blimey that seems complicated! I was hoping to pop to the plumbing shop and just buy something off the shelf and screw it to a piece of wood!
  18. that's all I've got! I've not put any plasterboard up yet so can put whatever noggins are required. I can take a photo of the end of it tomorrow to see what the end is but I think it's tapered like the one I posted in my other thread about the hep2o tap connector.
  19. help us Obi-wan-@Nickfromwales. you're our only hope.
  20. nope. not finished yet. maybe one day though ask me again in about 6 months. 🤣
  21. ok. but not worth wasting more time undoing it and taking it off again! 😉
  22. thank you. I didn't know it didn't need tape! it can't hurt though, right?
  23. I thought the Zappi was PV and battery aware and it all integrated nicely out of the box?
  24. errr....there's no washer I can see! have I used the wrong connector? or do I just ignore that rubber washer as it's not required in this situation? ps. I used Loctite 55 as I prefer it to PTFE
