  1. indeed! I went out and had another look this morning and you're spot on here. am definitely leaving that alone. thanks for your help so far. I will post pictures of the fixes you've recommended for critique later. 😉
  2. yeah, I have been doing this in certain places where possible with the 92mm rigiduct. but those massive intake/exhaust metal ducting can't be moved. at least not without major upheaval!
  3. I might get 3 and change that 92.5° bend with access point to a 135° branch as you previously suggested you'd do differently. (photo in case you've forgotten! 😉 )
  4. so, should the the branches where the WC enters be 135° branches as well then? I've used 92.5° branches. no, that's a cupboard in the entrance hall but will be stuffing it with Rockwool anyway and maybe that Killmat stuff you mentioned previously.
  5. although, I guess I could use the terracotta 135° branches, right? https://www.screwfix.com/p/floplast-push-fit-45-triple-socket-equal-junction-110mm/14112
  6. ok, so I can leave all the above pipework as is and just change it to a 135° branch coming straight down? don't need to relocate the above pipework to rest bend on to the horizontal? ok, understood. can you please explain to me the benefits of using 135° over the 92.5° branches? and also where you would use each? I ask as SF don't stock the 135° branches and I would've thought that they would stock the most used components so would've thought the 135° branches would be little used!
  7. well, as @PeterW said... so I can simply use a pair of 45° with a short section of pipe between. I'll take a look in the morning and see if I can run the soil pipe straight down and bend to the horizontal and branch into the pipe through the wall (in purple below). it all depends on how much room I have and where the beams for the block and beam are. I'm sure it'll all be clear in the morning! hmmm.....out of interest @PeterW, can I use a standard 92.5° bend like this (https://www.screwfix.com/p/floplast-push-fit-92-5-double-socket-bend-grey-110mm/17584) instead of the 2 x 45°? or will that still separate solids and fluids?
  8. I could spray paint it
  9. yeah, but that's underground drainage! and, yes, I know it's in a basement so technically is underground but I thought orange stuff was to be buried and grey/black was for internal.
  10. ok. I'm pretty sure the boss is over 200mm below the WC branch but will measure in the morning.
  11. I'm not sure if that's possible. here's the plans for the area where talking about. so the SVP in the drawing is pretty much where I've got it currently running. so I could double back on the run in the comms room in the basement, something like this side on drawing?
  12. yes, and I did read them but don't remember seeing anything like that. I'll have another read.
  13. if someone could post a link to Floplast push fit swept tees I'll use them! but I couldn't find anything by that name.
  14. there is one in the plans. if it ever gets installed I'll use a saniflo to pump it up to the soil pipe in the plant room. somewhere along the run below.
  15. not sure what you mean by this, sorry. the WC goes into the branch in this photo. the boss is just below the chipboard flooring for shower waste.
  16. if I understand you correctly I think you're saying to put the branch on the horizontal and 90° in to it using 2 x 135° bends? if so, that would mean I would have to run the pipes on the other side of the wall and then bring it through that wall on the horizontal. but there's not a lot of space so it might not work! in the drawing below what I've got at the moment is on the left. is what you're proposing on the right? if so, I might have enough room to do that.
  17. you're assuming I have a design! I have little space to run these soil pipes. I've come to the conclusion that our house was designed for aesthetics with not a lot of thought about how everything is going to put in. I have to run soil pipes around MVHR ducts, block and beam, posi-joists and lots of other obstacles that make it hard to do simple runs. hence the number of 135° bends to offset around obstacles. I'm not sure what you mean by wrong orientation though? I'm just trying to get s**t from the toilet branch to the soil pipe through the basement wall! we have 3 bathrooms that will go out through that single outlet.
  18. actually, I can't seem to find any sort of 110mm soil pipe rest bend that isn't designated for underground use!
  19. the long drop goes in to a 135° bend to offset a bit before hitting the branch. does that make a difference? also, I can't seem to find a Floplast push fit rest bend! and it's been previously suggested to pick a brand and stick to it, especially with push fit as sizes could differ. 😞
  20. after much deliberating about the 90° access bend on the vertical and whether or not I should change it I decided to leave it alone. it got the thumbs up from @Nickfromwales and, eventually, got a 'should be ok' from @PeterW which is good enough for me! 😉 today I moved on to another bathroom which drops vertically to the comms room and joins the pipe going through the basement wall. I also managed to connect Monday/tuesday's work to it and it all seems to fit together ok so far and seems to be falling at correct levels! as usual, I am very open to comments both positive and negative. the branch for the loo. it will go vertical to the loft where I will fit an AAV. drops down with a boss fitting attached for the shower waste and maybe sink if I can't get the sink to boss above the branch above. down through the block and beam and in to the comms room. and out through the basement wall and the other pipework joining up. I'm happy with it and think it's correct! I know it all needs supporting but it was getting late so I'll do that tomorrow. ps. a quick tag for @pocster to critique so he doesn't feel left out.
  21. fyi if you want to tag someone you need to precede their username with an @ symbol. eg. @pocster and @Moonshine. that way they should receive a notification that they've been tagged. otherwise, they could easily miss the post especially as pocster is probably busy buying walk on glazing.
  22. ok. thanks. hopefully I'll never need to rod it any way! I'm still interested in a better solution though. always looking to improve myself and my knowledge.
  23. @Nickfromwales so, even though you think my solution is ok, would something else be better? I have other options and can go for your 135° in to 135° branch if you think that is a better solution. I'd rather get it right now than have to do it all again at a later date. I've got pretty thick skin so don't worry about offending!
  24. yep. here they are:
  25. I can vouch for that! I took it apart and it is very smooth. I'll pop out and take a photo.
