  1. if I remember correctly (and @ProDave will correct me if wrong) he has his ASHP off at night to be a completely silent Household. With the insulation he has it will take many hours for the house temp to drop (like mine) so does not have to wait hours for it to warm up in the morning. This is the difference between a well insulated house and one that is not. The structure acts like a large storage heater.
  2. I might hang my conservatory temp/Rh thingy in the bathroom whilst I have a shower later, be interested to see what it does.
  3. Simple 1 to 4 controller on wall panel, I connected the RH monitor to 4 (boost), as you know I am a Luddite but the tech is here, http://www.mitsubishitech.co.uk/Data/Lossnay/LGH-RS/2013/LGH-50RSDC-E1/LGH-50RSDC-E1_IM.pdf I,m off to service my tractor..........?‍?
  4. That seems a bit long to me!, might be better if 30sec so if having a shower (bathrooms tend to be small) fans clear the air before a build up occurs, then off based on drop of RH. ???
  5. I tend to agree, just don’t know how to achieve it. (Over to you boffins).
  6. My bath taps were similar and I used hep20 tap connectors in my shrouds.
  7. I did, I just could not face a cut end of skirting. Done it on a few projects fir others when I was working and customers always pleased. Use mitre bond fir the joint and it will set in seconds, bit like super glue for wood, no need to clamp just hold together for 20 seconds and it’s set. You might consider it fir those pieces of skirting down the steps as well! . +1 on mdf primer.
  8. yes mine is “measured RH” not rate-of-rise which work much better. more than welcome mate (unless we are locked down ?‍♂️). I do tend to switch it off in summer as lots of windows are open so no point in it running IMO.
  9. back during that heatwave in the spring. (RH just dropped to 60%)
  10. you don’t live in Devon next to the Atlantic, just looking at my RH reading in the conservatory (during storm Doris or whatever) and it is 80%. Ground is heavy clay so all around us is sodden (think my new grass seed has drowned!). ?
  11. The mantra here (and the same applies to your garden room) is you only buy insulation once, fuel (electricity) you keep on buying and it’s price will not go down, I,m with @Nickfromwales above, get it built properly and your heating/cooling Spend will be minimal.
  12. I understand none of this tech stuff but wish my MVHR was more controllable. RH here varies between 20% and 90% and this confuses my RH sensor which controls the boost facility. I am hoping @SteamyTea understands this and draws me a (simple) diagram so I can make a controller. I always said ventilation is only required when air quality is bad but this seems difficult to measure.
  13. Right, woodwork masterclass coming up...... A/ cut bottom skirting piece at 45’ through moulding. B/ from bottom of moulding cut 90’ to base of skirting, remove waste. C/ from spare piece of skirting 1/ cut 45’ to top. 2/ Cut along bottom of moulding 3/ cut piece to length glue piece C where waste was removed . TAA DAA
  14. if that suits you but would prefer my idea.
  15. Nah, remember my pic way back. The one with the air rifle!!, it’s done like this..... gives a vety professional finish edit, are you not going to put a door frame in?, that needs to be done before skirting, and the bit you cut off will do the edging ?
  16. @ProDave beat me to it.....just exactly who installed what? then don’t pay the bill till this is sorted out!
  17. Looking good, well done. Can see your multi tasking, three threads on the go at once, iPad, boxing in, ASHP. ?
  18. Just for my piece of mind where is it coming from,???. Follow the pipe above the tundish and let us know, or take a pic to show us.
  19. Noooo, the other way, what’s it connected to? Which bit of plumbing is producing this water?
  20. Where does the pipework go after the tundish? (Black thing), any chance of a pic.?
  21. I said a proper plumber, not an electrician ?????????? i,ll get me coat.
  22. there is your problem (I think) the only outlet pipe is a release pipe to stop excess pressure in the system, sounds like you’re pressure release valve is leaking (I had one of these in the past.) ( but a proper plumber will be along in a mo ?‍♂️).
  23. Top up of a new system can occur as air is pushed round the system but Should not continue. Regarding the ASHP it should be “fit for purpose” or it contravenes the sales of goods act.
  24. It’s “sufficient insulation” if the building regs are good but “additional insulation “ if the building regs are poor, which they are now IMO.
