  1. Thanks guys just running out of time. hit b&q and got some paint mixed. put a couple of coats on an old window sill so will see how it looks
  2. Afternoon all, Could I please ask if anyone here has done this colour on doors or windows? And what is it like in person? We were set on elephant grey but had a spray can made up and didn’t really like the colour as had a blue tinge to it. Any other suggestions on the grey spectrum? Wanting a mid to light grey. kind regards
  3. Limestone been going down in hall and kitchen/ utility this week. 22mm thick so very heavy, probably going to cost a fortune in grout! First coat of matt sealer prior to grouting which will be light grey. Stone came online from stone superstore, must say they have been excellent, sent loads of free samples, emails answered promptly. Had quite a few broken slabs on the first delivery which they replaced straight away! Still trying to sort entrance door colours, think they will end up RAL 7030 stone grey
  4. Astragal bars going on, so that’s the windows and bi folds more or less complete less the bars.
  5. Yes they look so much better. Odd that 150 was used in the first place. Plastering should be finished this week but struggling to get heat in the house to dry everything out. Limestone flooring was delivered yesterday so will go and take a look over the week end.
  6. Budget has taken a fair hit lately. struggling to bring anything in at pc sum (apart from kitchen) on the interior. Gone for an oak staircase which won’t help things either! Just keep thinking anything we cannot change easily then no point scrimping. Variations currently at 23k, about 7.5k of that was flush casement windows and extra bifold.
  7. upload Probably go 600x random on the sizes on the stone, should be fun to lay! Just waiting on a quote for the Karndean as our quote is based on luxury vinyl click Price per m2 is ok on a karndean but I’m not sure how much fitting is for the screed etc
  8. All scaffolding down now. Still pushing on with plastering now Plans gone in for front and back entrance doors. Think we are going limestone tiles in hall and kitchen/ utility and Karndean in the lounge etc just awaiting a quote.
  9. Boarding more or less complete and first room (master bedroom) now plastered
  10. He said he’d had enough time off! Didn't think that was possible
  11. Surprised to see the boarders onsite today. Think they will be finished by tomorrow so ready for plaster album upload
  12. 90mm window sills now ordered as the 150 the fitters installed look odd over the stone sills
  13. Will check Dave but I think it’s the angle I’ve taken the photo at with regards to window. The plan was 2 courses of brick over the top windows as I also hate the windows touching the soffits. Not sure what went wrong but they had it done as you said. We compromised on cutting back the roof and using at 150ish fascia and soffit to give 1 course over the windows. I think it looks good but may not be able to see it in the pictures remove duplicate elements
  14. Kind of wish I’d paid extra for white mortar but the light grey does show up a bit more in person. starting to eat into contingency budget now though. I really thought once the outside was done that would be most of the variations done but we are struggling to stick to PC sum on the interior. Just trying to decide if its worth spending extra on stone tile floor in hall/ kitchen or try and find a nice luxury vinyl? Just thinking we should go stone tile now whilst not paying VAT, but looking at +£65 sq mtr over the vinyl click on quote. Probably use Karndean in the lounge then carpet upstairs
  15. Thanks Nick, Getting everything as symmetrical as possible was the aim as hate things looking out of place. In person there is more colour in the windows, they are clotted cream rather than white (astragal bars still to be added) Think the window has been left out as stone sill was damaged and only just been sorted/ fitted
  16. roush stage 3 0 60 Plaster boarding mostly complete opted for acoustic boarding in the utility and in the airing cupboard
  17. Thanks guys, as photo would be fine but my sills protrude past the brickwork. They have used 150mm sills which is where the issue lies. There is an option of 95mm sill which would still clear the lip of the stone sill and stop water getting in etc Ive asked for this to be fitted but not sure if it’s possible. Windows are in but not fully by the looks of things
  18. Ok thanks for the explanation think I need to go back and check that we are using the shortest sill possible as does not look great at all.
  19. Morning guys, Not sure if anyone has experience of this but we have stone sills on our build which are formed level. Our windows are now installed and overall look great. Once strange thing (to me) is that they have still used a UPVC sill on top of the stone sill. Being told it’s short projection and required as the sill is formed level. It looks odd to me as forms a double sill. Other widows I’ve looked at don’t seem to have the UPVC sill when using stone sills. Just wanted to check this is normal as ideally I wanted them removed but if it’s due to the stone sill design then they will have to stay
  20. Garage roof now complete
  21. Glazing onsite, Rehau Rio flush casement, clotted cream colour still quite white, was hoping for more of a yellow tone but still looks good. when you hold it against white it’s totally different so fingers crossed it will be nice when fitted. May end up changing the opaque bathroom glazing as the frosting makes them look to different to a normal window. First fix this week for alarm and cctv
  22. Pushing on now Sun tunnel installed at rear Ordered the range cooker Garage coming on well ready for slate next week. Oak porch going up next week also.
  23. Thank-you Bozza, Thinking I need something fairly neutral as needs to tie in with the garage doors to keep my OCD happy ? I love sage/ french sage but not sure if this would look good on the garage doors. Porch wise it will be oak with slate again. Hoping the windows will give the house a cottage feel/ look
  24. Yes builder sorted it all thankfully They are from a company in Poole called Broad Stone, colour should look good against the clotted cream windows
  25. Went round today and scaffolding now down at the front ?
