Well it’s that time again Sign off next week Hoping the vat claim will be less long winded this time 373k spent 420m2 34.5 k vat claim We originally set a budget of 300k for the two plots and 50k for the two acre field at the back of the plots 350k spend on plot one Then material costs soared just after Covid We did intend doing far less ourselves But Covid changed all that

I got a quote for installing and supplying Full design came with the free quote Pretty much like getting a quote for UFH They all seem to use the same software The SE will have already allowed for this in his foundation design I decided to self install Super Simple Apart from the weight of the beams I borrowed a five ton digger Both times Both quotes I had where charging for crane hire Plus ground plates Twice as quick with a crane

Half of what’s up there You don’t need Just to add I would always select your own SE Independent of your Architect and builder -

New Build In Scotland & totally confused on building control
nod replied to Andrew Jones's topic in Scotland
A rule of thumb is Where ever you are Building Control have no interest in planning maters They are just there to make sure that you or your builder complies with building regulations Planners on the other hand are there to make life difficult for you -
Do I need a PM if I'm engaging a main contractor?

There’s no point in speaking to planners You need to speak to the Cil team Which in our case was one guy and his young assistant that has no taken over We bought two plots and intended building one house and the foundation s for the next and also still had the 37k cil running from our previous build They certainly got my attention with a 62k bill Payable Within six weeks of breaking ground
