Tap bits missing help!
canalsiderenovation replied to canalsiderenovation's topic in General Plumbing
He was just going off site. He has another job next week and we are stuck with him as everything is really time precious at the moment. His attitude is you ordered the ex display stuff and it isn't right so you sort it. I guess it is my problem but he hasn't explained what I need to order. If anyone can help that would be great short of ordering two new taps. -
Tap bits missing help!
canalsiderenovation replied to canalsiderenovation's topic in General Plumbing
He spat his dummy out as the Quooker tap was missing the washers (they must have fell off so I need to ring Quooker and order a new set of washers). He was ranting about ex display items. I don't know whether to just order new taps completely he's a d*ck. -
Downside of our ex display bathroom is that the plumber has discovered some bits missing. First off the Ropher Rhodes tap. I'm not entirely sure what's missing can anyone help from these pics to identify what it is I'm missing. Secondly our free standing bath tap. This seems to be more of an issue and I think we may need to get a replacement as I think it's actually missing part of the fixing. If anyone can urgently help identify what to need to order otherwise it may be an urgent replacement order for different taps! Thanks

Ok, so we have decided to go for a full height freezer. I don't particularly have any preference for this but it must be frost free. We can't afford Siemens but would like a half decent brand. Ideally no more than £450. Our choices so far seem to be either: Bush £319 Electra £369 Candy around £420 Hisense £449 And then a bit more expensive is Beko at £499 Is the Hisense the better one? Looking at reviews it seems the Hisense and Beko seem to be rated far better.

I believe it is yes. None I tried earlier you can hook them off and they appear to be the same but it's only the outside ones that are missing. I think we put them somewhere for safe keeping incase they fell off and well.....? -

If you come across two of these baskets will you let me know? We seem to have lost the two outside onee! We have the unit and the inside ones but we can't for the life of us locate the other two. They will probably turn up in about 6 months packed away somewhere but in the meantime we could really do with them. They just hook on..... -

Nothing else I've seen unfortunately. We only found the colinder by accident as the company we got it off ex display had put it into the drawers thinking it was some kind of cutlery divider ? -
Steam ovens and ovens in general
canalsiderenovation replied to Mandana's topic in Kitchen & Household Appliances
Ah, I'd just posted the update above Here you go https://www.miele.co.uk/c/miele-outlet-abingdon-1409.htm Flawed system though. There is no online ordering. There is no rhyme or reason to when it's updated. Sometimes it's daily sometimes it can go almost a week with no updates. You have to phone up to order and each time I've phoned it's been a minimum of an hour in the queue and even then you don't know if the item on the list will still be in stock as the list isn't always up to date! -

It's on Miele website direct. Hang on I'll find the link. Here you go https://www.miele.co.uk/c/miele-outlet-abingdon-1409.htm Flawed system though. There is no online ordering. On a separate note if anyone's after a steam oven this just showed up on my local marketplace. Neff steam oven brand new. -

We got a built in Miele coffee machine from there for £500, then we bought our ex display kitchen with Siemens appliances a week later and managed to flog the Miele one for double than what we bought it for. Got our washing machine from there a few weeks ago for £404. Cheapest anywhere else £649. That said I've pretty much been checking the Miele outlet daily for the past 6 months! -
Our ex display kitchen came with a Siemens fridge. Next door to this we have a unit to match with two doors to house a freezer which we purchased extra. Rather than join the doors up inside and make it one (those clip things that go inside so two doors open as one) we were just thinking of having a freezer the same size as the fridge because the ones that go under the fridge or three drawer ones are too small and the tall ones are a bit too big. I think this the ones they are around 1220mm in height like this one https://longeatonappliances.co.uk/cda-fw582.html Trouble is there seems to be only a handful of built in freezers this size which seem quite expensive (for a brand like AEG/Jeff) and I've never heard of CDA, not to mention it is manual defrost. So, do I just get a full size one, a decent brand and fill any space with frozen mojitos and ice cream or get the 5 drawer one which is manual defrost and not a great make?

Steam ovens and ovens in general
canalsiderenovation replied to Mandana's topic in Kitchen & Household Appliances
We have both! The wife has always had a coffee machine (freestanding) including bean to cup ones and I think it got more use than the kettle (I don't like coffee but I did like the frothy milk function). I do enjoy cooking at eat a lot of food steamed so I should make good use of the oven! -

White Screwless Sockets/Dimmers
canalsiderenovation replied to canalsiderenovation's topic in Electrics - Other
Thanks. Will do we don't have any light fittings yet anyway - that may be a while! I can't actually find MK screwless dimmers so don't think they do this in their range ...... -
White Screwless Sockets/Dimmers
canalsiderenovation replied to canalsiderenovation's topic in Electrics - Other
Thanks, I'll look into MK and if they do dimmers. Majority of our lights are on dimmers as I can't have lights too bright as they are really sensitive. -
For any switches we want wide rockers and our spark has recommend Click Mode by Scholmore which is fine as there are no screws. The sockets/dimmers he has suggested are Click Mode and they all have screws and ideally we want white screwless. Anyone got any suggestions of a budget price range, white only which is screwless that covers sockets/dimmers etc. In our last house we had stainless steel screwless (shed branded) and the fronts were always falling off them. Any recommendations?

canalsiderenovation replied to canalsiderenovation's topic in Kitchen Units & Worktops
Arghhhh, just been to site now and the heat pump and tanks is taking up more room than expected as it's not a pre plumbed tank due to the size so we will now only have a maximum of 2100 so looks like it will just be the sink unit and washer and dryer now with a small filler panel and get rid of the 300 unit at the end! Guess it means on the plus Howdens will be cheaper! -

Yep both 8kg machines. I don't actually know if the machine doors can be reversed. I know the washing machine can't but tumble dryer let me see. I did think about stacking but neither of us are particular tall and I'd value more worktop to be honest. -

Ahhhh right. Guess we are stuck with the normal pricing then because the builder isn't going to pass the discount on to us! See if they will deliver to SY13 ? -

Here you go @PeterW I'll get them to replace the 300mm one with a tall cupboard and then the wall units thereafter. -

Howdens themselves!! They are useless. Nay idea how I can get them to give us this price?
