She doesn't think it would look right is the response and 'what if we change the floor' (it's only just bloody gone down)!! The trims we have between the utility and hall LVT are a kind of brushed steel aluminum so I quote 'something like that' . . . @Redoctober that is a bit bigger than what I was hoping for. The smaller the better to be honest! We don't have any other 'wood' looking stuff and UPVC could be an option I guess but the option by to cover timber suggested by @Roundtuit could work. Or get the timber bonded and screwed into the concrete like @PeterW suggested then if she wants to keep painting it a grey/black colour to match the floor she can do it (or if she isn't in when the flooring company come back I'll just get them to do it and have the telling off after)! We have a similar issue with our front door but this is a different LVT and we don't have flooring left!

If I didn't want to use LVT (other half would prefer not to use the flooring don't know why) would it be possible to just paint it grey/black?

Yes we do and the flooring company has to return too as some of the LVT tiles have a fault which the company have are paying for the faulty tiles to be lifted and replaced. Could be an option I can ask the builders to put a piece of hardwood onto it.

This is the utility and inside of our composite stable door which was a bit smaller than initially planned as we got a great deal on an ex display door. Advice please on any sort of trim we can use or what do do to tidy up this inside. Our LVT flooring was laid when this was fitted and it now looks a bit of a mess ? Builders are continuing to work through snagging list next week but I don't know what to do with this.....

We are also both working from home, I would be normally anyway but there are both of us with multiple Skype and MS Teams meetings we can be in different rooms/other side of the bungalow. I've got the TP mesh things ordered and the Ubiquiti so I need to get them both out and see which works best then send the other back to Amazon.

We can't get Virgin here ? Our WiFi has never been particularly good here and we have had the somewhat basic plug in Netgear boosters before we had the building work done with almost no effect. Fingers crossed one of these work better.

I'm a her! I've ordered the TP mesh system (1-2 bedrooms) and the Ubiquiti and will see which is better. Just ran a speed test.

What sort of mesh system do you recommend, just curious for price comparison I can always try this sort of system and the Ubiquiti and see what is best.

Indeed BT have this package but they charge a small fortune for it and I don't want to be stuck with BT. We only went with them as it was free for connecting our line as oppose to the £70 others wanted and they promised us a minihub whilst we were waiting to be connected and we got a reasonable fibre deal but I won't be staying with them long term. Let's hope the Ubiquiti is good I've ordered it from Amazon.

I think I'd rather go for the Ubiquiti for less than £70 if it's a decent piece of kit as we have a real dead zone this end of the house and we can wall mount it too. We have two other Ethernet sockets so it may be we have it in a more central place (living room) if it reaches to the bedroom as well. So I presume we put the circle bit into the Ethernet socket and then the socket connect the other end to the router. Plenty of sockets spaces on our router as we only have the Three mobile booster at the moment. I can get it from Amazon and get it before Thursday as this is when the spark returns to sort out the Ethernet and outstanding stuff.

Finally we got our BT line connected. We suffer generally with poor Wifi and non existent mobile coverage due to our location but I'm pleased to report we have 4 devices connected so which is enabling us to work and watch Netflix! I've not tried the wifi coffee machine or ovens yet on the basis I can't think why I'd need wifi on them! The bedroom/dressing room is the furthest away point and we have no wifi at all. I did take advice and get Cat5/6 whatever it was put in the dressing room (where we may eventually have a TV), in the living room and at the opposite end of the house in a guess bedroom ( the latter two of which are fine on WiFi and closer to the router). So, what can I buy that will give me wifi in the bedroom to plug into this socket/Ethernet? Any particular brands or equipment I should focus on? I think @AliG had some kind of booster and @PeterW I'm sure I read you have similar?

Yes from the treatment plant, info the chamber then onto the leach field is correct. What I need to get sorted is if it could be done better and it's not right what can be done to improve it? I can then tell them what I want putting right, any help appreciated!

It's as it is on that picture so does seem to be pushed through but it was one of the things that I raised too so I will speak to the STP/drains guy when he returns. Can you give me any specific pointers, e.g. what it should be like so I can talk to the drains/STP man later this week when he returns. I do feel like we are dismissed a little so it's really helpful if I can point out things and explain and understand why it's an issue rather than me just telling them it's an issue and they saying it isn't and me not understanding why!

Yes he is going to check all of this Thursday, Friday and Monday and is concerned so I'm sure it will be put right. We have very little wind here as the old railway embankment keeps us very sheltered.

Yes that is easily resolved and the list of snags has been taken away and Thurs, Friday and Monday all will be resolved with plumber, drains/STP person, electrician all back on site. Went though everything and feel better now.

Ok so there is not a vapour barrier as this was not specified, only for the extension for the gym which we didn't end up having. The parts we have condensation are ultimately what was existing but we had the roof tiles, felt, ceilings etc replaced. There is ridge ventilation and he is going to check all the insulation and look at putting in some fascias/soffit vents and is addressing this urgently. I did find some pics of work in progress.

It is the pumped outlet from the STP. He didn't seem too concerned about it being blue and as the majority of this is buried over 2ft underground we are a bit stuck now anyway!

The builder is coming out today so we will raise.

I believe these are the relevant parts and it does mention a vapour barrier but I don't know if we have this but I will raise it. Insulation ceiling level to be 150mm Rockwool insulation laid between ceiling joists with a further 170mm layer over joists (cross direction). Construct ceiling using 47x150mm sw joists at 400mm centres, finished internally with 12.5mm plasterboard and min 3mm thistle multi-finish plaster. Provide polythene vapour barrier between insulation and plasterboard. Provide opening at eaves level at least equal to continuous strip 25mm wide in two opposite sides to promote cross-ventilation.Mono pitched roofs to have ridge/high level ventilation equivalent to a 5mm gap via proprietary tile vents spaced in accordance with manufacturer’s details.

It's 4 degrees here and we have had no snow compared to other parts of the country. Infact we seem to have escaped the frosts and snowy weather others have had.

Ok, I don't know if this is right but we went up the bungalow loft with a view to putting the Xmas decorations up and it's looking pretty wet on the roof and is dripping a bit in that the insulation is a bit damp. Should it be like this? We have already got one very long snagging list gone to the builder already and I want to check if this is something else we should be mentioning or not so if I'm making a mountain out of a molehill please tell me! And no we don't have snow on our roof currently. We still have bits of cladding needing to be sorted but that's on the pitched but with no loft and I don't want to create vents or gaps because we always seem to be a magnet for wasps and bluetits nesting. We already caught one trying to nest in not yet fitted hole to the utility extractor! We had our EPC done a few weeks ago and they didn't make any suggestions on loft insulation. There are in two different areas of the loft as you will recall we almost have two pitched roof areas and then the flat roof.
