  3. Hi i want to do some work in my home, its plumbed in Mlcp. I want to use compression fittings. Im looking into purchasing some adaptors so i can use standard compression fittings. my question is can i use any brand adaptors or does it have to be from the makers of the pipe? I heard that some of the pipes can be different sizes even though there 16mm? thanks
  4. I had a look at there website I couldn’t find it. Is there any other companies that do a similar one?
  5. Anyone know where I can get an exact match for this sill? Anyone know the brand? I think it’s made from aluminium
  6. I haven’t a clue all the windows are like that and it’s a new house only a few years old. The beading is also cut too short on the outside with large gaps
  7. Hi guys, What is the correct filler sealer to seal those gaps on my Upvc frames? The beading is on the outside of the frame. I’m getting cold air and noise coming through
  8. My house is new and has ventilation system. Should that make a difference? I actually thought it was standard practice for a vapour control layer on Ceiling considering I have one on my external walls. Defeats the purpose of having one on the walls?
  9. What’s 330? Is that foam?
  10. Shouldn’t there a vapour control layer to stop moisture rising and also prevent draughts? In an ideal world I suppose.
  11. No there’s isn’t access. Any tips on finding out where the leaks coming from? Are the wall to ceiling junctions a weak point?
  12. I’ve a ground floor extension and I noticed I’ve a nasty draught coming from one of my smoke alarms, it’s a cold roof above it. I’d imagine this shouldn’t be happening as my house is supposedly air tight. the extension came with the house. how would I go about fixing this? finding the source of the leakage? Or is it impossible and just forget it.
  13. Thanks for the reply. I actually prefer the constant heat in the house with WC. I sometimes think certain heating engineers know less than let on about these systems.
  14. Thanks for the replies. Some of that stuff is very complicated for an idiot like me. Is it ok to run radiators on weather comp? I had a heating engineer out recently and he said weather comp is only for underfloor heating. I should run it at a fixed flow of 45 with it turning off and on.
  15. It’s. 3 story new build with radiators and a 4kw split heat pump.
  16. Should I run my a2w heat pump on a fixed temp of 45? Or would a weather comp curve be better? I would like cheap bills and a warm house? If that’s possible.
  17. Hi all I’m having My front door replaced by the developer. It’s a timber frame house. Is there a certain way they should be replacing the door to maintain airtightness. Replacing airtightness tape etc? I’m afraid they will just tear it out and use cheap foam and put a cover strip over it. To hide the damage. Which will obviously deteriorate and become draughty .
  18. About 300kg over 2 m2. Oh and I should add it’s going to In my attic bedroom.
  19. Im building a walk In wardrobe. Can floor joists hold 300kg of ikea wardrobes? Without causing any issues? Many thanks my
  20. Can anyone recommend a decent bath screen that won’t leak? Not too expensive? thanks
  21. Oh I see. My wall that I plan to use is a shared party wall so I didn’t like the idea of screwing that far into the studs. What length of screws did you use? nickfromwales is using the egger board I wonder is he avoiding drilling into the studs incase of vcl damage?
  22. Sorry to be a pain. Are those battens strong enough to hold up a heavy tv? I need to do this in my home but I’m concerned about the battens strength.
  23. Does the egger board have the strength to hold heavy TV? How is the egger board secured to the battens? They don’t look to thick. I’d like to use this set up for heavy cabinets and tv’s. Just need to know how to secure the board. thanks
