I’ve a burrow full of rats in my garden that love to climb 8’feet walls pretty amazing to see. anyway I want them gone. Pest control put down poison did not help. I’m putting down my own traps. I purchased the “Black Cat Rat Trap” beast it is. Anyone any tips on putting traps down? Should they be in boxes?

Thanks Dave I’ll order one. Will that tighten well or am I going to have a sliding toilet seat
-
Do you mean just replace the nut? Is it a standard type of nut that works with that plastic
-
I tried removing my toilet seat to clean it and I dropped the nut inside the hole. It’s one of these close to the wall toilet. What are my options do I need to remove toilet to fix the seat

Im just about to use your method but has me wondering. The fibre board back is slid into a Channel. So if I glue plywood onto this, the fibeboard holds the weight in the channel?
-
Thanks Dave, so I’m basically gluing the plywood onto the flimsy hardboard then screwing through both into stud? Never even thought of that to be honest. Much better than seeing a batten inside cabinet
-
I’ve about 10mm at the back. I was thinking of just fixing a batten on the inside and fixing through that? or would 10mm plywood be enough to use at the back

What do you think?

Thanks I’ve just had bad experiences with plasterboard fixings failing I’ve a few monkeys at home
-
I was just thinking this but it has a flimsy back. The stud is right in the middle too

I have to mount a heavy cabinet onto my bathroom wall. It’s a finished wall and not going to hit any studs. it’s an Ikea Hemmes bathroom cabinet. Ive attached a picture of my wall make up. It’s an exterior wall in a timber frame house with 35x45 service battens on the studs. im considering cutting open the wall and adding plywood not sure how I would secure it to 35mm battens though. any help would be much appreciated

Shower riser rail and shower head - which should be central? It’s above a bath with a screen

I forgot to ask. What is the correct way to seal ducting like this on both ends? I saw diagrams online and there supposed to be sealed. will stuffing wire wool down without foam do the job? I read that foam can damage pipe?

self leveling will work on a plastic meter box? -
Hey guys I need some help if you can What’s the best way to repair this hole around the cable in meter box? I think they used a hammer to make there hole. thanks
-
Thanks all for the reply’s and suggestions. You’ve all been a great help as expected. I’ll have a look at aerobarrier also Nick I didn’t know this existed def a good option
-
I should add every single socket on my exterior walls leak air I doubt this is fixable by myself without a large cost
-
How would I go about stopping air getting out through sockets, is there any handy solutions? you are right I’d probably be tearing the hole house back to the studs to find those air leaks
-
To be honest id rather just fix it myself I wouldn’t be bothered with chasing airtight results as they probably lied anyway. Is my only option ripping down plasterboard on that wall and inspecting vcl?
